the link seems to be working for people on PC but not on phones. im working on finding a phone fix. if someone could screenshot the pages just incase it goes down again that would be great.
Here's a link detailing how to optimize your router for gaming. It's an amazing guide. It's a lil long but well worth the read. It will skyrocket your speeds and teach you how to send most of your bandwidth to your PS4 or XBox. Enjoy and bump this to spread the word. Down with bad connections!!!! The original link went dead but "Veni Vidi Ludi" found an alternate link. Thanks Veni.

Edit 1: Thanks for all the bumps. we got this trending and its gettin alota likes. hope the guide helps everyone with their connections and speeds.
Edit 2: Getting close to 500 likes. That's awesome. 500 more bad connections eliminated from the community. Should we try for 500 more? Keep on bumpin.
Edit 3: were at 500 likes!!! keep it up.
Edit 4: with so many people having internet issues in Trials Of Osiris i thought this would be a good time to bring this back and help some people get better connections. keep bumping this to spread the word. Down with bad TOO connections.

1 ReplyEdited by RonEats: 7/18/2016 11:49:48 PMI visited this and it has helped my understanding; and I have successfully lowered my lag/latency, but the one thing I'm confused on is how to limit the bandwidth like he is talking about in this article (part 3). If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very thankful. The picture he has for that specific section is also gone, out date or ...something. It's just not there anymore! Thank you for taking the time, I know I just dug up a fossil!

6 RepliesEdited by Dim: 1/12/2015 1:31:37 AMNot a bad read, but not 100% accurate either. For those on WiFi, if you are relatively close to your home router and you have a dual band router and playing on a console that supports a 5 GHz wireless band then try using that instead of the the 2.4 GHz band. This can greatly reduce network congestion since the 5 GHz wireless spectrum is much wider. This will not only reduce interference from other devices like cordless phones, baby monitors, wireless stereo speakers, blue tooth, etc. as the OP's article mentions but throughput will be more uninterrupted. The downfall to 5 GHz is that it suffers the range that the 2.4 GHz spectrum can offer. Lastly, check the channel width your router is configured to use. 2.4 GHz networks should be set to 20 MHz which will reduce the possibility of other local networks (e.g. your neighbor's router) interfering with yours 5 GHz networks should use a 20 MHz or 40 MHz channel width. On 2.4 GHz/20 MHz channel width set your router to channel 1, 6, 9 or 11 and take it off "Auto" (which most routers default to). These channels are non overlapping with a 20 MHz channel width. For 5 GHz networks, set the channel to 36, 40, 44 or 48. This alone can solve SO many interference issues people experience over WiFi in highly populated locations (close neighbors, apartment complexes, dorms, etc.). As always, use caution when making any network changes. So many of my friends changed their MTU settings at/around Christmas because they "read about it on the forums". Low and behold, not even a week later, but well after the PSN ddos stopped, they could not stay connected for longer than 10-30 minutes due to packet fragmentation occuring. Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Use necessary caution when making any network changes, and please research it more if you decide to take any of the above advice and at least have a small understanding of what you are doing.
