The Devil You Know vs. The Devil You Don't
Which is better? I want a legendary hand cannon and I almost have enough vanguard marks to purchase one, just not sure which to go with.

TDYK is still my go to in PvP. Since the update, it's lost some of its stopping power against higher level enemies in PvE, but PvP it's still a quick, fast shooting pistola.

9 RepliesI haven't heard of a 2.0 TDYK yet. Really sucks too. The best thing i've seen is the TFWPKY 1969. Its a crucible handcannon and is virtually identical to TDYK but with max damage obviously being higher. I think i'm hanging on to my coins this week again and going to get the crucible handcannon instead of TLW. *haven't used TLW, so this is just from looking at specs and the fact it consumes an exotic slot, so don't bash me!

I'm a long time DYK user and recently picked up TDYD, it actually pretty good despite only 5 shots, the stock perks suck bad but if you manage to get field scout on it you get 13 shot, I imagine that makes it a beast.

1 ReplyEdited by Me Eat You Guts: 1/9/2015 8:57:51 PMThe version of DYD that's for sale isn't very good but, with the right roll on a drop, it can be really good. For example: mine has Luck in the Chamber and fast reload when empty. Which, on a tiny 5 round magazine, is excellent math.

TDYK is possibly the best Handcannon in the game. Screw Fatebringer's explosions, I'd rather one-shot Knights at Scout Rifle range.

THe Devil You Dont is the WORST handcannon/ probably the worst Legendary weapon in the game, I'd take the Khvostov over it any day!

Just got the explosive rounds perk on my Don't active and it sorta kinda makes up for the small 5 round clip. The Know is a beast even at just 300 max damage. I wouldn't buy the Don't, but if you get any hand cannon with the explosive rounds perk, try it out before dismantling it.

"The Devil You Don't" only has 5 shots per reload.. so keep that in mind when deciding. I'm not the most accurate hand cannon user, so I prefer more rounds per reload myself. Also noted below but I'll repeat: the devil you know was the old version and is no longer available, but there's some other options available through the quartermasters.

5 RepliesCan't directly buy the devil u know from vanguard since dlc. U can only get it from random rewards levelling vanguard or engrams if at all anymore. Vendor devil u don't kinda blows with a five round mag. Not sure about the crucible hand cannon and think the only other one u can purchase is from fwc. Got lucky with my Xmas package for a devil u don't with field scout increasing its mag to 13

8 RepliesEdited by MUGENtapes: 1/9/2015 7:02:37 PMDevil you know by a mile! Has send it perk meaning it has the range of a scout rifle but with higher impact. Also has more than double the mag size. Plus I don't think you can get the devil you know from the vanguard post dlc.
