So I was just wondering, for those who are married or live with their girlfriend and what not,how often do they let u play destiny or any other type of game?. My misses hates me playing Xbox and I can only get away with maybe 2-3 nights a week. What about you guys?
Edit: just so everyone know I DO have a separate tv in the front room to play on.
Edit 2: loving the replies. And the excuses all the blokes are coming up with about how's its their manly right to play. Keep them coming.
Edit 3: wow over 500 replies cheers guys. Its interesting to hear how all of you fellow guardians live too.

7:30am-11:00 pm, she knows where to find me and so do the kids.

1 ReplyI believe you meant to say 'wives.' 'Wife' with an 'apostrophe-s' implies the possessive of a singular wife, i.e. 'my wife's anger towards Destiny,' or 'my wife's divorce attorney.' The plural of the word 'wife' would be 'wives.' Just a heads up. ;)

My girlfriend is quite into games too, so as long as I'm not playing unhealty periods of time (Like I've been doing with Dragon Age Inquisition, lol) she really doesn't care. We even play Destiny together almost every tuesday.

Edited by UnightedReaper: 1/12/2015 12:53:53 AMMy girlfriend likes to watch me play. She use to play Xbox in her childhood but always had a higher interest in books. Sometimes I'll be on Destiny and she'll just lay her head on my lap, reading a book she just bought. Other nights she'll just sit there with a bowl of popcorn, resting her head on my shoulder and occasionally asking what's going on or why I did a certain thing in the game. I plan on keeping this one for a very, very long time.

I'm happily married. She's really good about game time. It's all about balance, balance is important. Thankfully she has her own hobbies.

2 RepliesNote to all you noobs out there: Find a girl that is independent! You don't want her to be clingy. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT

3 RepliesWife has been playing dragon age lately.. Stole my destiny time..
-
1 Reply28 and married with a kid. I would love to be able to play all day everyday but it's important to balance it out. I manage about 3 times a week depending on my mood. Fun game but not worth pissing off the wife. Remember: a happy wife is a happy life

Jesus, all of these posts make me not want to get married.. (Got a gf)
-
I usually play before I go to work in the mornings and for a few hours on my days off. My girlfriend doesn't mind too much
-
My girlfriend and I play together with separate tvs and systems. It's great

Married, usually get on after everything is done "I need you to go here, do this for me". Usually after 11 pm est.

1 ReplyI play most nights and days off. I probably play too much but still give my wife the love and affection she deserves and do my share of the chores. I do get asked "and what time did you come to bed last night?" thrown at me from time to time. Whatever. I am not sitting there with her watching Hollyoaks followed by Eastenders followed by more crap tv. Holby city. Eldorado. I'm a celebrity and xfactor too. I do watch some tv with her. Broadchurch, The Walking Dead and The Knick. That's about it. If she asked me to stop gaming, I would. But she knows that I would be even more of a miserable c**t than I already am.

Married with 2 kids and our oldest is two. We worked out a deal where I get one night a week for gaming in exchange for one night a week giving the kids a bath. All other nights are for us to enjoy each other's company!
-
I snap hulu plus. Wife usually watches Bob's burgers while I play. Fun times
-
My girl friend plays with me she's not very good and actually dies quite often but it give me an excuse to play lol
-
6 RepliesSometimes my husband is like, "oh not this stupid game again..." But if I go a few days without playing, he's like, "hey why haven't you played 'Destiny's Child' in a while?" Lol go figure. I just do whatever I can to stay outta the doghouse! I'm like, "look! I made your favorite meal! Now please leave me alone the rest of the night while I game..." :)

My wife is ok with it. I play 5+ times a week while she watches her reality tv...
-
5 RepliesMy wife mostly hates gaming so i wake up at 3:30 or 4 am to play She goes to bed early so i just join her lol she loves me coming to bed with her, little does she know that i do it 80% just to play

3 RepliesI live with my gf.... And whenever she sees I've got my attention on something else she gets jealous and harasses me, both physically and verbally, until I drop what I'm doing and pay attention to her.

Edited by Guardian9254: 1/11/2015 7:00:18 PMMy wife used to raid in WoW, I even played with her for a bit (though she was WAY better than me). Thankfully, she knew before we were married that I was and always will be a gamer. Plus, given her WoW back ground, she understands that you just have to play sometimes... for 7 hours.

I'm married with almost a 1 year old and i play every night but it's only for a few hours because I have a little travel for work. On weekends i don't work, i play almost all night. Before I had my son i rarely got to see the controller in my hand because she hated me playing. Because I didn't spend time with her. It was and still is a struggle to find time to play games and have a little escape from reality.

Edited by iamNOTstoopids: 1/11/2015 6:37:18 PMI work 14 hours a day but on a 7 on 7 off schedule. On my week off assuming I'm not traveling I can always find time to game when she goes to work. Other than that she hates when I game when we could be doing something. She's right.
-
I'm married and have a 2 year old so my time is limited. I play on weekends when they go to bed and when my daughter is napping.
-
Married and have a daughter. My wife absolutely hates me play. I clean around the house in order to be able to play lol

I've been married for four years now. We dated for 16 year before we married. I've always played games. My wife does not. However, it's never stopped her from buying me a game or standing in line with me at a midnight release. I get to play anywhere from 1-4 hors a da depending on how fast I can do my chores, what the little ones are doing, etc. andnons til find time to work full time (nights shift) and pay plenty of attention to my wife and kids, we do things and go places together constantly. If you wife won't "let" you play....I have a problem with that. Always been a big supporter of "if she tries to change you, she Dosent really love you for who you are. She trying to love you for what she wants you to be".
