Destiny 2 resets character progression.
Now call me crazy, but what if they actually did not allow you to carry over your progression. Destiny 2 would do what The Dark Below did and made all and any pre dlc items worthless.
Just a thought.... Let the trolling begin. Lol

1 ReplyDestiny expacs (dlc) are like WoW's patches and Destiny 2 is like WoW's expacs. Character progression won't reset.

I would steal a truck full of Destiny 2 discs, run it into Bungie headquarters and start using them as ninja stars to assault Destiny Devs. I would do so in cosplay as my Warlock I've fell in love with, while he hates his repetitive Exo life in the game.

I hope we can carry over to each game, or at least have a system in place like Mass Effect were we get compensated for our materials to some degree. But I really would like my weapons n armor to carry over, I can deal with new currency, items, etc but having to re-earn my current exotics seems tedious.

3 RepliesI think you misunderstand what Bungie means by "character Progression". Destiny 2 will not force you to make NEW characters, like the Mass Effect sequels did. But Bungie (almost certainly ) handle GEAR the way it did with TDB in the sequelae. 1. The level cap will go up. 2.A selection of new, more powerful gear will be offered. 3. The difficulty of play will go up to reflect the availability of better gear. That is how these games work.

It'll likely do something similar to Mass Effect. Good perks to having an old save, but resets/reworks of talent trees. So you might get to keep your favorite gear and such, maybe get a visual effect, but you'd still have to relevel things.

Problaby you can keep your characters but your level will not matter. New players must be able to play even without destiny 1, i don't think activision will let people able to play Destiny 2 only if level capped in destiny 1. So you will just keep your equipment and character aspect.

Everything I have seen and read about Destiny 2 states that we will be able to keep our same characters, hopefully that means they stay at the same levels too.

1 ReplyI would kinda be fracked off if they did that and emptied our vaults while they are at it..... but then again it would be funny to read all the thread about how 3 level 36 Guardian ( all exo's and etc) no lives have been robbed of all they have earned >:D
