Two shards is not a reward, nor is five strange coins. Why? Because the daily gives you two shards or two energy and the weekly gives nine coins. If nightfall is the hardest, then I would think more would drop. I do not expect an exotic, but more than a weekly or daily run should be reasonable.

I'm not disagreeing with you but for some reason one time a while ago (I think the first time the archon priest was a nightfall) I got 15 strange coins and it's what helped me buy the exotic from xur. Then I never got anything less than an exotic again. Until last week when I got 5 strange coins and a broken controller.

I agree with that you should only get 9+ coins from the night fall
