Because it is the only place where you have a good chance of winning one (I would say the chance is more than in the raids)
And when you don't is a shit, because new 331 legendarys are in general very very mediocre, far worse than the old pre-DLC or VoG ones. And you should NEVER and I say NEVER win fragments, energies or coins in a nightstrike. You could win those on a lot of other places and is depressing when you only win those.

What about the people who need the mats or coin? Why should they not have the chance to get them cos others have stock piled em?

Edited by Polar: 1/9/2015 9:30:58 AMYou could do VoG or the daily mission and win them there, you could do the patroll events, etc. Or do the nightstrike and If you don't like what you get dismantle it and get the materials. There is plenty of ways of earning materials, there is a very small quantity of activities where you have a good chance of giving you an exotic (doing strikes or PvP chances are sooo small that are allmost 0)
