It's just an old console from long ago. There is another one, that is white if I remember correctly, in the room before the Archive door. There have been a lot of theories on what it could be for but none of them amounted to anything. This was months ago when people were trying to find more chests and secrets in the VOG.

Ok I had a look the one you are talking about its a little similar but not exact.. It's white, has a slightly different shape and has writing on the screen..

Hmm guess I will need to check out the part before the archive.. I swear I have never seen it anytime I have been there before though.. or I have and just haven't paid much attention to it haha

I was one of the vog theorists and I still think there are a lot of things unanswered. There is a something in the grimoire that ties crota's domain with the vex and the vog. We may have the secrets uncovered in later installments of the game. I've stopped searching for now but I would love to find kabr's ghost one day.
