I never really see anyone using a pulse rifle, I like them personally, I just don't see a reason to use one over a hand cannon or scout, what do you guys think?
Edit 1: 256 people think pulse rifles need a buff, cmon bungie make it happen!
Edit 2: wow guys almost 1000 people agree with me, let's make this thread heard by bungie !

4 RepliesYes, and a solid one at that. The new raid pulse, oversoul edict really sucks!
-
More ammo and we'll be fine.

-
Yes, definitely.
-
They would be ok if they had more ammo

I have Praedeth's Timepiece. Even with Arc burn being a factor this week, i considered using the Vex for solar shields. Luckily a friend joined in with me and we were able to coop our damage types. When the damage is Void Atheon's Epiloge is a must have, solar = Vex or VoC. Pulse riffles are so bad that even with an element burn, they are still not a clear best in slot.

2 RepliesI rolled a good coiled hiss 1919 yesterday. Full auto, speed reload, hammer forged, field scout, and glass half full. I'm going to level it up, play around with the perks, and see what I can do with it. So far, it's been really good on patrols. Haha.

Pvp I think the high stability ones are fine. If stability/burst spread is bad then they are worthless. Pve not useful at all.
-
5 RepliesThree Little Words has to be the best pulse rifle I've ever seen for crucible. Each burst does 104 damage if they are all precision hits. So two bursts can kill someone. I'd say that's a good pulse rifle.
-
In my limited experience with them, they are ok in pvp, but severely lacking in pve. The damage per trigger pull is on par with a scout rifle, however theres a significant delay between trigger pulls, where a scout rifle just keeps firing. The pulse rifles without the delay with the higher ROF do a lot less damage. They need a damage buff against pve enemies.
-
Of course they do everyone knows it so should bungie.

They need more ammo and more body damage. The crit damage is fine. But their damage output over the course of a magazine is terrible. They are basically gimped scout rifles. I'm not sure what the niche they were trying to fill between autos and scouts, but in my opinion, they missed the mark.

2 RepliesMy all time favourite Pulse/Burst rifle from any game is the G11 from Call of Duty Black Cops. (iron sights only). What this weapon has got is everything you expect from a burst rifle. Explosive Power, Those three rounds do massive damage because it's focused in one area, unlike an auto rifle which has a greater area of hits and therefor the damage spread. Gridlocked Accuracy, When you aim near the head area then you will hit a lot more of your rounds than you would with an auto rifle because of the stability these types of guns have. I'm afraid that the pulse rifles I've used in destiny are basically burst auto rifles and don't seem like a different weapon altogether and they lack power overall. Although accurate, it seems I still need to fire just as much ammo as the other guy is firing back at me. What I feel a pulse rifle should be like is a combination of fast fire rate like a regular Auto rifle but with (almost) the power of a scout rifle because the damage focused and multiplied on one area. There is one Pulse rifle from Crucible vendors and the impact looks very good but upon watching reviews I am not convinced it would out damage a scout rifle with a much lower fire rate. Or even an auto rifle with a quicker fire rate.

Hell yes! They need a serious buff pulse rifles are not even close to the hand cannons scout rifles and auto rifles there useless!
-
I don't think so...but I'd happily take one!
-
1 ReplyNeeds a buff so bad, I wanna be able to use my Paredyth's Timepiece without being judged!
-
No I think they're good right now you just have to get used to them. I just barely started using one because I have yet to get a legendary one until it dropped yesterday for me in a nightfall

1 ReplyYeah. All Weapons with low impact stats on primary's need a slight buff. Pulse rifles especially.
-
7 RepliesThey need a change. It's hard to find one with good impact. In pvp they do pretty good actually, hand cannons just outshoot the crap out of them (and everything else).
-
I agree. Pulse rifles seem to be the least popular gun type in Destiny. I usually like the 3 round burst guns in most games but this one is very underwhelming. I would at least like to see a higher Impact stat.
-
Yes they need a buff: Auto rifle had a nerf with a %2 damage decrease Scout rifles had a good buff with a %6 damage increase Hand cannons had a buff but i forgot the percentage I think its time that pulse rifles got a buff.
