why kill Crota legit?
Why study for a test? It's much easier and more efficient to just bring a cheat sheet.
Why get a job and save your money to buy a car? It's much easier and more efficient to just steal one.
Why go through the trouble of fixing a broken marriage? It's much easier and more efficient to just shoot the b!tch and find a hot young girlfriend.
Why kill Crota legit? It's much easier and more efficient to just manipulate the net-code and cheat the system.

To make you better and prepare you to the hard mode. But at the same time, the way the RNG works, it's pretty annoying to do it legit but its fun though. I don't care how the fireteam wants to do it. I did it legit way and cheese way.. =)

I think your logical misstep is that there are ACTUAL consequences for doing all of the things you mentioned, whereas there are no consequences (currently) for cheesing Crota. I don't cheese Crota because I can kill him fairly efficiently at lv32 if my team can drop his shields. Before lv32 I allied myself with Hunters who went invisible and could get 6-8hits on him as he fell. At that point I was a boomer-watcher/jumper-watcher.

Stop crying. 1.) just because someone cheeses crota, doesn't mean they didn't "study" how to beat him. Maybe tried legit for a week straight then cheeses him Monday night. Either way, at no point are we being graded, like a test. And at no point would that grade affect our future. So. That was a moronic analogy. 2.) seriously? Were now comparing. A video game to REAL LIFE GRAND THEFT AUTO!?!?! At no point has anyone cheesed crota with the risk of being imprisoned for awhile, and gain a permanent felony while they were at it. So. Yea, that's stupid. 3.) ok... Ok.... Now, with the third analogy, you lost me. Failing many times and finnaly over comming his hardship defeating crota and is rewarded with two shards. While someone cheeses the raid on 3 charecters in an hour and gets all the goodies. Now compare that to the Joe's who work hard to make chicken feed while managers cheese their work day and get paid the big bucks. The world is cruel. :(

2 RepliesThere is no sense in trying to discuss a moral compass with a bunch of cheating scrubs... they will always be cheating scrubs and likely in every aspect of their lives. All you can do is sit back and wait for Bungie to patch the cheats and then lap up those delicious tears from the scrubs when they start whining on the boards about how they can't beat it and it's not fair and whaaa whaaa whaaa.... I can't wait to see it ;)

While agree with your point, the difference between cheesing Crota and your examples is the amount of risk involved. If there was a high chance that cheesing Crota got your account banned (aka jail time for stealing the car, expelled for cheating on the test, etc) then less people would do it. My raid group doesn't cheese Crota because at this point it's actually faster to just do it legit since we tend to only wipe once or twice if at all.
