Nerf Icebreaker! (Thanks Bungie, you listened!)
The Icebreaker is an amazing sniper and I envy anyone who has this weapon. But it is my humble opinion that the gun needs a nerf due to the facts that it makes a lot of "cheese" tactics possible, let's be real how many "cheese" tactics are made possible because of the Icebreakers ability to regenerate ammo? Think about the Oracles in the VOG or the Bridge in Crota's End and countless more I'm not going to name. All these "cheese" tactics wouldn't be possible without the Ice Breakers ability to regenerate ammo.
[u][b]Solutions[/b][/u]
[b]Solution #1:[/b]
Significantly increase the amount of time it takes the Ice Breaker to regenerate ammo.
[b]Solution #2:[/b]
Reduce the impact and range of the Icebreaker. Reduce the recoil and increase the fire rate.
[b]Solution #3:[/b]
Slightly lower all the stats on the Icebreaker (including the ammo regeneration rate).
I think this will balance the game and make it a more fun and more enjoyable experience for everyone. If you disagree with me please explain your reasoning in the comments. Thank you for giving me your time and reading my opinion.

Detox all your little nerf ideas are really stupid and will never get anywhere. And im not watching the damn video this article is all I need to know that it won't happen. Stop trying to get things nerfed and play the game. Btw if Bungie did do all the nerfs you want then this game would suck, it's not supposed to be a pillow fight

Come on man, the regeneration doesn't make cheesing any more possible than any other sniper rifle with a bunch of synth. In fact, in quite a few cases it's worse.

Nerf it I don't care. I wouldn't in equip my yolohorn for it anyhow. I have plenty of special synth and praediths revenge. Praediths timepiece for the closer ones.

If you have it then this must be a troll post. 7 seconds per round may not seem like much but when your out it gets annoying and less convenient than a normal sniper. If you choose to snipe the templar, it takes 4-5 rounds to kill an oricale and to regain those 4-5 rounds will take 28-35 seconds then after the oricales you need to shoot the templar and you only have 1-3 rounds. The regen rate is good as is. Instead of IB I use another sniper rifle and when I'm low on ammo I switch to my shoot to loot sniper and pick up ammo then switch back to my other sniper and with that shoot to loot I can also pick up primary and heavy ammo so it's faster and better than IB's recharge rate. If anything IB could use a 1-2 second buff if it wants to compete with shoot to loot.

1 ReplyWhile we are at it lets just need Gjallarhorn's Wolfpack rounds, they do too much damage. Sorry we don't line up in straight lines to hit enemies head on like old European warfare. Ice breaker regens ammo at an ok pace, it is not instantaneous. You can spend a fair amount of time waiting.

1 ReplyI don't know why they don't just homogenize all weapons and armor to all do the same thing and call it a day. Otherwise there will always be a best weapon. Best armor. Best class. Most used weapon. Most used class. You get the picture.

Quit nerfing guns, damn. U get killed by it, so what. Learn to work around it. If u cant get the gun tht kills u, and then learn it's upsides, and downside.

21 RepliesAn ice breaker is no better than an LDR with synth. Could argue that it's LESS good due to the exotic slot it takes up. It's the most overrated gun in the -blam!-ing game. Every time I hear someone go "hit it with your ice breaker if you have one!" I just think... Why icebreaker? It doesn't hit harder than any other decent sniper in the. It doesn't hit harder than the standard vanguard sniper. Yawn
