What is the point of beating Crota on hard mode?
So my question is, if you can get all the raid gear including helmet in normal mode, what is the point of hard mode? I assume there will be a few weapons to get like necrochasm, word of crota and oversoul edict? So what after that? I remember playing many hours trying to get all the raid gear from Atheon especially the raid helmet. That was like the biggest reward to get at that time. It just seems like its easier to get gear and weapons now. Once you get all the weapons then what? Wait til the next expansion? I think they should have made it hard to get some pieces like the old raid. But thats just my opinion, makes you keep playing til you become one of the elite that have got full raid gear. I see a lot of guardians running around with full raid gear just not leveled up because of the rareness of the materials. What do you guys think?

2 RepliesThere is a whole new set of raid armor, if you didnt know. It looks different as well as has better stats, but still gets you to 32. Also, primary weapons with elemental damage are introduced as well as the Crux of Crota, a Vex Mythoclast like drop that turns the Eidolon Ally into the Nechrocasm

2 RepliesEdited by MaMMa Appelsap: 1/6/2015 1:55:39 AMI think they made this raid way to easy. I got all my gear for 3 of my characters in 3 weeks. In about 9 hours i have enough shards to make my second 32. VOG hard was fun because you still need to do oracles for the foil, templar for the fatebringer, gatekeeper for the timepiece and atheon for the vex and helmet. Now at crota you only need the checkpoint for crota and do that 3 times for the weapons. Everything else you can get from normal raid.

(Not being a smartass here, really think abiut it, why did you choose to sit down in front of your tv and turn this game on?) We could elaborate on that by asking what is the point of life? One step further yet, What is the point of ANYTHING? If you cant answer my first question, you wont be able to answer the other 2. Edit: If you cant find a point, maybe there isnt one. Maybe your time could be better spent.

Primary legendary solar/arc/void damage weapons at 331 cap is always a tempting thing. And VoG hard raid gear has better stats than normal so I picture that will carry over as well

the "elites" are the ones you will see playing with said gear. All of the fake guardians will have stopped playing the day after they got all their gear.

Because the Hard Raid is going to be level 33, and they need players to be able to reach 32 before it unlocks. It would be incredibly difficult if players were stuck 2 levels below on the Hard Raid.

Edited by NewtypeShot: 1/6/2015 12:50:21 AMThey made primary weapons only drop in hard mode and made the raid the only way to get radiant materials to compensate for making the raid gear drop more often. So your two incentives for the hard raid are raid primaries (the hand cannon, auto rifle, pulse rifle and scout rifle), and the Crux of Crota, which you can use to get the Necrochasm. Edit: plus double the materials each drop.

5 RepliesOnly primaries drop in hard mode - crux of Crota only drops in hard mode - you get more shards and energy running just hard mode instead of normal - there is another set of character gear that drops in hard mode (probably better perks maybe just looks different idk)
