Q: What behaviors can lead Bungie to apply account restrictions or bans to a user?

.
Modification or interruption of Destiny network traffic with intent to disrupt other players’ experiences or to gain advantage in the game

Instead of putting this on the countless threads and replies on this issue, here you go I did the work for you. You can and will get banned for glitching Crota. Posting that you have glitched and trying to argue it only puts a target on your head for people to report you. If you glitched, keep your head low and hope you don't get banned. Good Luck.
Edit: It didn't take long for people to spew hate. I did not make this post to argue with anybody. I also was not attacking anybody who glitches or "collecting tears". I don't want to see anybody get banned and this was more of a PSA than anything else. Pulling a plug out of the back of your console to get gear is network manipulation to gain an advantage in the game. It's not just for pvp and it's not just about ruining other players experiences. Again, Good Luck Guardians and I hope none of you get banned.
Edit: So Crota is being patched and it looks like nobody will be banned, awesome. For anybody that has only cheesed or hasn't done CE yet, I am more than happy to teach you how to do it in my daily raid runs. I'm on PS4.

Glad they fixed some things in the raid, but there is still more things they have not addressed like the heavy ammo glitch.
I’ll bet you noticed, even though you’ve been busily swinging that sword into poor Crota’s big shiny green mug between dainty bites of soft, warm cheese.
I highly doubt Bungie is banning anyone after joking about it in their weekly update...

3 RepliesI would love to be banned for bungies mistakes.
-
I love Destiny, but if I get banned for something they didn't fix, I will never play this franchise again. Supposedly, I heard they have a list of disconnect and legit kills of Crota? No idea what type of validity this has, but I'll be on both lists if true lol
-
cant get banned end of story. please stop going full retard and proceed to snap your disk k thanks
-
Looks like your warning fell on deaf ears.
-
2 RepliesYou are right; however, I do have questions for you. 1.) Is it right to ban players who spent money on the base game and the expansion/season pass? 2.) Is Bungie not also at fault for releasing glitchy content? 3.) Are you negatively impacted? I think people on this feedback forum need to start giving constructive useful feedback, so that Deej actually has a reason to read them because they're generally kinda stupid.

2 RepliesI have been in group that beats Crota without fail just playing as Bungie design intended, and I have been in groups that beat Crota in ways that only Hideo Kojima would design for. I don't really care which way they go as long as they tell me what my role is to be and it involves letting me kill things by shooting them.

1 ReplyIt's honestly so much faster doing it the right way, rather than unloading every shot into him, letting him kneel and hope it works, cuz every time he stands back up, it's just that much longer. I went with a group that tried to do it cuz one of them needed to go to work soon and it took forever. They couldn't get him to stay down. Did it like you're supposed to, he was down before the ogres spawned. So quick.

11 Replieslol I guess bungie is gonna ban every 32 and a majority of 31s.

The Crota exploit is not for the gain of a single individual at the expense of any player. It is for the gain of the 2-6 people involved and nobody gets hurt.

This is taken out of context. They have had these same terms since Halo 3 and to be honest it was implemented for the Matchmaking so other players couldn't get advantage over other players (lagging the game out for instance) . You want to know what is considered network manipulation in some cases? Getting a party together and going into matchmaking just to get an achievement or reward (and yes I was temp banned for this on halo 3) . There are literately people that get other players together just to get the thorn bounty pvp section cleared, and technically, while it is in rumble and is allowed at the same time it makes getting gear easier. You manipulated the system to get your reward. Also, think on this, there are some people that either get disconnected by means other than their own. Should they be banned because of either a network error or some other internet related issue? What if the power went out and Crota was permanently kneeling with the team the left? There are so many variables that banning people would be quite idiotic. While I rather not cheese myself, I go with the group. I know how to do it both ways same as the VoG.

That is for pvp.... Affecting other players.... These players have been banned before. No one from pve doing crota has been banned... Sorry to burst your bubble...
-
XD LOL I'd like to see them ban 80% of their population game is already dieing that would just decapitate it and kill it off they won't ban anyone XD
-
2 RepliesYes, the COMBINATION of turning off Destiny, thus severing your network connection (interruption), with the intention to gain advantage over in-game challenges can result in permaban to everyone benefiting!!!! HOWEVER, seeing how ambitious, but broken the game is, punishing players would be like a government quarantine for anybody with the Common Cold.
-
The crota glitch does not fall under those conditions. The way that is worded, people using "lag switches" or altering their connection speed to gain advantages over others, would get banned if caught.
-
Not gonna happen. There are more important things in life. Get over it mr hindsight
-
Hear that? That's the sound of not a single -blam!- being given.
-
If they banned for cheese most of the playerbase would disappear. Blame bungie for crappy QA, not the players
-
1 ReplyWith all the random disconnects we all get from the raid, how would they ever prove that you didn't legitimately get disconnected? That's why they will not ban for it. Last night alone we had 6 disconnects just loading into the raid. They would need to fix their end first. Because I'm pretty sure that it's not my 56mb/s cable connection. But maybe it is?

2 RepliesHow about we ban bungie for all the times we've had network issues with the game

Edited by DudeManBro: 1/8/2015 7:39:57 PMPersonally I believe if you can't beat crota legit you suck at this game it's easy

Come to the dairy side of the force!
