how many of you can solve a Rubik's cube?

About a year and a half ago, I was worming my way in and out of my neighborhood dumpsters looking for some hidden treasures and I came across a box of toys. In this box, along with a few other trinkets and oddities, was an unsolved Rubik's cube. I made it my goal to solve this, and.. I don't know.. Redeem the soul of whoever's cube it was. So I set out on a series of google searches and YouTube tutorials until I was confident in my cube-solving abilities.. And for a few months I used this trash-cube to hone my skills until one day, when I was looking around my local Target. I saw a fresh Rubik's cube in a sealed case. I decided tha my trash cube has had its time. I solved it one last time and put it up on a shelf. To forever commemorate my fallen brother whoever he or she may be that had given me this cube whether intentional or not, he or she had given it to me and I decided to put it up and use this brand new target cube. Until I opened the package. And I came to a realization. The cube I had bought was so stiff. And uncomfortable and took so much force just to turn one side and I realized that the cube I found in the trash was the best Rubik's cube I've ever encountered. So loose. So free. I was amazed truly that this trash cube was so greatly.. For a lack of better words.. Slippery. So perfect. I used only my trash-cube until one day, one of the white stickers peeled off. A few weeks later, one of the orange ones peeled off. I was so saddened. My resurrected baby. My old college javelin. It had crippled. From then on, I chose to preserve it. I retired her. I put her on a shelf and started using my other cube again. Now here I am a few months later. Haven't solved a Rubik's cube in weeks. I found her. Jammed into a drawer. Alone. Cold. damaged. I set out on a quest today, ladies and gents. I got on my bike. With one primary directive. to repair my cube. I got a pack of multi-colored post-it notes and a tube of crazy glue. I repaired my cube masterfully. I have restored her to her former glory. To he or she or whoever it may be that left their Rubik's cube in a box out by a dumpster, I thank you. For you have given me a new hobby. And have given me something I would have never had. Nobody in my family can solve a Rubik's cube besides me. And for that. For the prestige of the knowledgeable, I thank you. How did you learn to solve a Rubik's cube?

          • Did you buy a speed cube edition because those are much more quick and loose than the normal cubes

Fastest in a 3x3x3 is around 50 seconds and a 4x4x4 is about two minutes. Not too amazing but I can do it blackout drunk which is something I guess And I learned it because my friend got one and I was like, gotta beat this fgt, I kind of do a mixed version of f2L and the beginners way, like I usually don't do PLL and OLL because i never took the time to remember all the algorithms

                    • I used to collect puzzles. I could solve a 3x3 Rubic's cube, a 4x4, a 5x5, a megaminx, the Rubic's snake thing, the flat one with the rings, a 2x2, and a couple others im probably forgetting. I have a nice collection. They just gather dust now.

I learned how to do Rubik cubes by smashing it on the floor and then putting the colours the right way
