Same here. I reported that one a while back, Bungie told me they know about it, but the item render is outside the capabilities of the 3d modeling system they use.
My guess, is it is the transparency of the item that throws it off.

Anidien is correct. Some gear pieces will render differently on the app in the website because of the limitations of 3D rendering on those platforms.
