Best Weapon for Killing Oracles Quickly?
What is everyone's preferred weapon for quickly killing oracles on Hard?

Super good advice, oracles don't register as hits

Vision of Confluence should be only weapon you need for oracles if you are playing with half decent players. If you need a special/heavy then likely you are special or have team mates that are special. If you have bad team mates (very common in PUGs), then something like Praetorian Foil is very handy so you can solo Oracles. Using heavy on Oracles is just plain stupid, should be reserving ammo for Atheon, and those who want to use Supergood Advice saying "my ammo does not get used when I shoot Oracles", whilst this is true, the DPS offered on Atheon is poor compared to other exotics.

Auto Rifles, Shotguns and Fusion Rifles work best.

Praetorian Foil for one shotting oracles and VoC for Hobgoblins/mobs and helping with oracles out of range of the foil. If i am with a group that wants to snipe from up top then i use Icebreaker and VoC when IB needs to recharge.

Super Good Advice The perk for that is if a bullet doesn't hit an enemy, it has a high chance to return to the magazine. For some reason, oracles don't count as hits, so I'll lay 20 rounds in them but only lose 4-6

1 ReplyA maxed praetorian foil. One shot all oracles. Even though this game has been out for so long, people still ask me what weapon I am using when I take the oracles out. I even tell the other guy to leave and go help outside since it is easy to solo it with the praetorian foil.

Praetorians Foil is great. With a few shots from one other person & one from Praetorians Foil the oracle is done. But, ive stopped using it of late as I like to have my Black Hammer equipped to shoot Atheon with. So im using a mix of Atheons Epilogue & Corrective Measure. Ill fire a few with Corrective then finish the oracle off with Epilogue, reload that, switch to Corrective, rinse & repeat. After hearing about Super Good Advice ill be ranking that up to use.

My top three are: Praetorians Foil - awesome when max'd Fatebringer - From what I have been told, 5 shots sometimes less (I don't have Fatebringer!! Damn you RNGesus!!) Praedyths Revenge - 3 -4 shots and so easy to shot. one of the most stable and quickest firing snipers in the game!! Vision of Confluence is my favorite weapon, but takes too long on Oracles. Hezen Vengeance is too to reload and its better to use another rocket launcher and the ammo for Atheon or Templar. Same with Corrective Measure, great but best save that heavy slot for Atheon and a decent rocket launcher. That said if you have a party with lots of Gjallahorns, Truths, Hezen Vengence's or similar rocket launchers, then feel free. Corrective Measure with field scout and the right armor perks gives plenty of ammo and its great for those pesky Protorian's and Supplicants. If you are a Hunter, then run the Aclyophage Symbiote helmet and Gunslinger for 4 Golden Gun shots and Oracle destruction coupled with one of the other weapons. Super Good Advice the exotic LMG is great when leveled as the SGA perk kicks in as it doesn't register Oracles as hits so keep refilling the mag. So there's a few choices for ya...Hope it helps..

12 RepliesI have every single vog weapon in the game. Including every good exotic weapon and have plenty of fusion rifles that do more damage and are more effective than murmur. A lot of players are going to say murmur because it's by far the most common legendary fusion rifle in the game. Murmur isn't a bad weapon... But plug one out damages it. However I have tested nearly every weapon in the game against oracles and the clear winner is praetorian foil. On hard mode a level 30+ will one shot an oracle. It beam spread and impact are also incredibly tight so landing all 7 beams from a burst is incredibly easy. (Makes it amazing in pvp as well) Also the further down the mag the more damage you will do. It's also more powerful after reloading. The reason it's not going to win when people vote for the best gun to use against oracles is that it's an incredibly rare weapon with a drop rate of less than 1% in the vog on hard. Second best is corrective measure.

Praetorian Foil. It one hits oracles in hard when maxed out. My buddy has it and he can solo kill the oracles whenever he gets ported.
