So in the midst of a Crota raid the guys and I were discussing that destiny 2 better have a selling/trading economy. I heard there will be.. This conversation was birthed due to the fact that a buddy of mine grossed his 5th Icebreaker from the nightfall. He was in the raid with me and decided to tell everyone and of course, everyone flailed their arms saying how they wished they could "trade" it off him.
Bungie likes to control how we acquire everything in the game, to an extent that is good, but it has gone beyond the border of comfortable gaming. I have little faith that a trading selling economy would even be enjoyable, their insatiable desire to control how we obtain the gear that we want will be copied and pasted to Destiny 2. The tower is a dysfunctional mess, there are weapons in the other factions that NO ONE will use in PvP yet you MUST accumulate crucible marks to get them so that you can go back to ignoring the crucible since that's also a dysfunctional mess.
I just don't want to see a trading economy where you're only allowed to trade certain gear. I want full freedom trade, example: if I wanted to, I should be able to trade a single black wax idol for an exotic. As long as the other player is satisfied.
Let me know what you guys think, I just know there's going to be a type of marketplace that WE would love, but with what decisions Bungie has been making lately, I doubt they can deliver our anticipated satisfaction.

3 RepliesTrading like that makes since when there is a large loot pool, like in mmos or games like borderlands. But bungie seems to want to make items feel special and unique especially exotics,so there will be a limited amount of them. Since there will only be a few they don't want you to get everything right away so they make the drops random. The only suggestion would be to have a smart drop system so you are more likely get the weapons you don't have. And you only mentioned exotics in this post, I'm assuming you don't want raid gear to be tradeable because that would be a bad idea.
