The will of crota is the -blam!-ing worst strike in the goddamn game. It's long, boring, repetitive, and full of bossed-up enemies.
The first half has you stand in the back of a room and shoot enemies out of the window with no checkpoint. Did I also mention that when you shoot enemies on one side the other enemies on the other side can shoot the shit out of you? Even if they don't -blam!-ing see you, they just fire away with their goddamn homing bullet which round the -blam!-ing corner and kill you. So you're left in that -blam!-ing room, which is pretty much a choke point, and have to kill all the damn bossed-up enemies. This takes a -blam!-ing long time because the enemies never leave cover, until you step out of the room to get them, in which case you will be insta--blam!-ed by either seven vandal snipers or hive boomers.
Once you're done grinding through that piece of shit bore-fest, you have to push through a -blam!--ton of fallen by, you guessed it, grinding through wave after wave of bullshit OP enemies. Everyone has a -blam!-ing yellow health bar and shields, and of they take one -blam!-ing bullet, they run the -blam!- away. Once you're done grinding through that, no need to spice things up, you're grinding again! This time against Hive though, so it's OK. You go up a hill that's full of Hive boomers that hide behind rocks until you're right next to them, then they all pop out and shoot you dead. Oh yeah, there's an Ogre too. Once you're done that, you're privileged to the most cramped, bullshit part of the whole shitty strike.
The Boss. Omnigul, the all singing, all floating, screaming, ear grating, hellspawn bitch herself. Many guardians have ripped their ears off in an attempt to silence her screams. It haunts them in their nightmares, although the guardians of the Skrillex clan have found inspiration in it's horror. Me however, well, it pisses me off. Time for this bitch to die.
Let me list what's wrong with this bit.
1: Enemies can shoot you before you can see them.) Wizards spam the left doorway and Knights on the other side of the map mortar strike your ass before you can even step over the threshold. And they keep shooting. Seriously, they don't even see you and their still shooting. I left to go pick up ammo back in Skywatch, came back they were still shooting. You can't move up. You just have to slowly grind your way through. (Yay, more of this shit.)
2: Enemies love their cover.) Seriously, I under lesser enemies hiding due to their low health, but when a level 31 Hallowed Knight is hiding from a level 30 Hunter with a scout rifle, not a heavy weapon, not a sniper, a -blam!-ing scout rifle, that knight is a -blam!-ing pussy ass bitch. He takes one shot, pulls up wall of darkness, runs away and hides for about a minute. That means he only took half the damage of the shot, dragging this shitty firefight out even longer. You know what else drags this shit out?
3: Enemies and Omnigul have so much health.) I know it's supposed to be hard, but why does it have to drag out so long? Yeah it's entertaining for the first while but then it just get boring and repetitive. Same goes for all the boss fights. Instead of a long ass boss fight, they could lengthen the strike with some vehicle bits, sniper bits, CQB bits, or just something else. Hell, instead of having bossed up enemies, just add more enemies. Who doesn't like killing stuff? So instead of grinding away at a single target only to then grind away at another single target, go wild. Kill thousand of those bastards. Have them rush you in swarms. Anything to break up the monotony of shooting the same -blam!-ing guy over and over.
So yeah, I beat the bloody weekly. Then what happens? It shows up two weeks later! Only this time without Arc burn, so that's a relief. Solar burn made it easy to burn through (pun intended) but it didn't make it any more enjoyable. I beat the nightfall but there's no way I'm grinding through that shit again. Maybe if I need the strange coins for Xur (Last Word, please) but otherwise, unless one of you fine folks want to help me, I'm out. Eris can go kill Omnigul herself for all I care, I'll be laying it to Crota's face.
P.S. I'm not whining because this strike is hard. It's easy. I'm whining because it's boring.

2 RepliesWhen you can write without swearing constantly I'll start to take you seriously.

It's my fav strike if the game. I feel the same way you do about the psion flairs strike. Super boring.
-
Stop crying like a bitch if u don't like the strike don't play the game fag
-
I personally think it's the best strike in the game.
-
Best strike in the game...maybe you should quit hiding from the enemies and be aggressive. Its an aggressive strike.
-
Whining is whining, dont do the strike if you dont like it,problem solved,yw
-
The worst strike is the three -blam!-ing bullet sponge -blam!-ing flayers (I'm to enraged to for a shit about spelling) these little -blam!-ers are so annoying most useless strike imo. ITS ALSO ANNOYING WHEN ROC MAKES YOU PLAY IT 5 -blam!-ING TIMES IN A ROW.
-
She's the easiest
-
The only time I find any strike fun is when it's at level 30 or higher. The level 26 playlists are boring as -blam!- now
-
Don't hide in the first room and it will go fast. Fallen in second part are cramped and die fast to any sort of cluster rocket. I honestly never even noticed the boomer knights as they die too easy to almost any sniper/fusion. The ogre is a few shots with a sniper (black hammer for insta reload). Omnigul gets shredded by sniper fire, wolf pack rounds, and any form of sustained damage (and fighting the trash in her room is a waste of time). The strike sucks, but far from worst.
-
I enjoy the difficulty of it... There's a lot of other strike ie. the moon where you fight phogoth. That you can practically run thru
-
This strike was awesome. It had dialog that was more than a couple words. It added an interesting mechanic, where you had been 'fighting' the boss of the strike for all the new story missions but the pussy kept running. Tons of thrall and knights. A really rough end boss fight since she moves so fast . I think if your tired of this strike then you need to take a week off of destiny.
-
Far from the worst. Go suck on mommas teet.
-
i'd rather play it than some of the others. it's long(ish) but it's hordes of easy enemies being thrown at you. i kind of like that. it's non-stop killing. and i get a ton of engrams from that place (and a ton of glimmer with the wax idol up). i'd still rather one of the quick easy ones (i could easily play sepik prime, phogoth, and nexus over and over for hours), but in all honesty, anything but the mars strikes. they're not fun. not even a little bit.

2 RepliesEasiest and most fun strike in the game You just need to get good Shithead
-
You just described 64.367% of Destiny.
-
I soloed it last night for the weekly heroic 30 and it was far from boring lol I hate that strike though. Good for glimmer and engrams though
-
I totally agree with OP avoid this strike at all costs (except weekly & nightfall)
-
Ughhh yea its the most difficult strike...and this is all opinion...but it sounds like your struggling with it...just sayin...and also lots of glimmer and great for bounties...idk wtf u talkin bout CHIEF
-
I love that strike, except for actually fighting omnigul. You would think being one of crota's commanders, she would have more of a grand battle area than just some little locked up storage room. :/
-
I personally enjoy this strike.
-
I play it on mute. The screams from omnigul piss me off.
-
I love this strike. Omnigul's screams are annoying as hell. That said, the boss battle is intense, it's a non-stop firefight; I love it. In terms of worst firefight, design-wise, I'm really sick of Phogoth. But the Cabal Flayers would be awful as a nightfall.

1 ReplyArchon priest is the worst for me!
-
Almost as if the entire game plays this way
-
So....you mad or nah?
