If you think about it rationally, if it's between being an Atheist and a Christian ('accepting Christ') then only a fool would be an Atheist.
This is all my opinion (obvs) and % used to highlight my point..
In the case of no God (99% likely):
Atheists = when you die you die there's nothing
Christians = when you die you die there's nothing
In the case of God (1% likely):
Atheists = go to hell
Christians = go to heaven
Atheists: Is it really worth not accepting Christ for the chance of eternal damnation regardless of how unlikely, improbable and absurd it? When 'accepting Christ' requires little to no effort?
I'm an Atheist that's been Baptised but i do believe Christ existed (albeit probably as another name but as someone who was either off their cake professing to be the Son of God or as someone who hated the Romans and fought against them which they then used as a martyr for the Bible and ting) so I no idea what that makes me
If only a fool would be atheist. Then only a pussy would believe.
-
Sorry no. There is far less of a chance of your fairy tale being true. The fool would be one who wastes their life on such fairy tales as life is the only thing you know for sure exists. Your cloud castle is just a dream
-
Did you not read my spoiler? What I'm saying is: if 'accepting Christ' gets you in to heaven and that takes no effort at all apart from simply believing; then if God & Heaven does exist (albeit extremely unlikely IMO) you're a winner. If they don't exist, you haven't lost anything
-
I didn't read your spoiler and I'm hung over with a splitting headache so I'm particularly crabby, apologies. It's not juuust a matter of accepting Christ that gets you into heaven though is it? As unlikely as it is that some heavenly beardo who craps lightening bolts to make the crops grow exists, it's even less likely he's the Christian god.

Edited by LordZoltan: 12/31/2014 2:42:17 PMYour choice of words makes me laugh. Like no kidding, smile and laugh. Let me ask you, is there an athiest hand book where they instruct you to use specific jargon when talking about Christianity? And why is it that athiests are never heard or seen talking about Islam, Buddism, Hindu, or any other religion? Nope. It's always about sky daddy, sky friend, magic book, fairy tale, etc. Too funny!
-
is there an athiest hand book where they instruct you to use specific jargon when talking about Christianity?
Please highlight the 'jargon' in my post as I'm entirely sure what you're referring to?
-
I wasn't responding to you. It was Captain Geezer. Sorry about that.
-
Haha no worries, sorry for the confusion. It just came up on my notifications and I was like "WTF, is this guy trippin'"
-
I would've done the same. You should change your user name to IAMZOLTAN. now that would rock!
-
But IAMZLATAN?
-
Yes you are!

As an anti theist I am against all deity worship. There is no handbook, you just come to these conclusions by opening your bloody eyes. Christianity is a particular target of ridicule as it's the largest cult zombifying the western world.
-
Here's some more enlightenment for you. You say that you are AGAINST deity worship. You say that Christianity is a TARGET of ridicule. You're like those folks from Freedom from Religion. Always going after Christianity and then saying your doing it because someone is offended by it. Which, in essence, is saying that only athiests are entitled to their beliefs. In my book, that makes you a hypocrit.
-
How am I a hypocrite? I'm against deity worship of all kinds. Christianity is brought up more in discussions because it's the biggest cult going. If Mithras was more popular, he'd be getting the brunt of it
-
You're a hypocrit because you believe that you are entitled to your beliefs, but others aren't.
-
You can believe what you want it doesn't stop me from thinking you're an idiot for doing so
-
Well that's swell bubb
-
Thanks, bub
-
How enlightened of you. It is interesting that you have decided for everyone else that there are no deities. Your vast intelligence, experience, and knowledge clearly outshine the rest of us. And it warms my heart to know that you, of all people, have opened your bloody eyes and seen the truth for what it is. And yet, even with your great understanding, it never occurred to you that each of us has our own choice to make. Our own life to live. If I'm living a fairy tale, as you say, what harm is it to you? What affect, if any, does it have on your life?
-
The harm is when you push your fairy tales into politics. When your fairy tales point the fingers at others and condemns them it deserves public ridicule and needs to be exposed for the sham that it is. I'm pointing that finger right back at the core of your stupid beliefs.
-
Let's talk about the core of stupid beliefs. Treat others the way you want to be treated whether they treat you that way or not. Love one another unconditionally. Learn to see your own faults before pointing out other people's faults. Be forgiving. That's just a few. If you want, please take a moment and point out why each of these things is stupid.
-
First, every cult preaches about love at the beginning the main bs is done on the sly. The love everyone unconditionally thing is bs because the bible clearly gives status to men over women and discriminates against sexual orientation. Not to mention of course that those of other religions or non religious, are less than equal because they're damned to hell. So don't go spouting off how angelic your church is because it clearly isn't.
-
Edited by LordZoltan: 12/31/2014 10:52:48 PMMy church? Who said anything about a church? I hate to disappoint you, but I don't belong to any church. I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. I don't have to go to some special building on Sunday to talk to God. You say that Christianity "discriminates" against homosexuality or sexual orientation. Really? It discriminates? Lmao. No. What it says is that men having sex with men is a sin. And the same for girl on girl action. It's a sin. Now you might pick this church or that church, this preacher or that preacher and tell me how they discriminate and tell people how they are going to hell. Well, read the bible. The only person that will be doing the judging is Jesus Christ. I, nor any Christian, can tell you or anyone that you're going to hell. If you read the bible for yourself you would know that. And lastly I shall say this. If you read the bible and became an expert on what it said, then who could tell you you were wrong? If you know the answer before you ask the question, then you wouldn't have to rely on some skewed version of Christianity you saw on tv.
-
Oh so it's just your manifesto that discriminates not its followers, so very clear now
-
By your definition my "manifesto" also "discriminates" against lying, cheating, screwing around, murder, -blam!-, flipping people off, stealing, cursing, getting angry, and any number of things that can be called sin.
