We are 8 years later, and still lot of nightfalls are lock to dlc, im dissapointed

7 RepliesIt's really pretty simple, and it's an important life lesson to learn about the real world: You get what you pay for. If you didn't buy the add-on, you should not see any of that content, period. That being said, the non-dlc players out there should still have a weekly and nightfall from the base game content. I'm surprised they don't, since the base game came with those features. The correct beef with Bungie should be over why the old nightfall and weekly are not still available with the base game, not begging for dlc charity and expecting something others paid for, for free. On that note, I think I'm going to write a letter to my local Dodge dealership today. You see, I bought a truck from them recently and opted not to purchase the stereo upgrade that would have given me Bluetooth to connect my devices and hands free calling features. I feel left out because my friend bought the upgrade and here I am locked out of those features. The buttons are there, but they do nothing. After reading some of the entitled posts here, I think they should give me the upgrade for free. /satire smh

What does the expansion pass do?
-
1 ReplyI bought the season pass and I still think its bullshit. Denying them additional content is one thing, but denying them content that they ALREADY had is wrong and a poor business strategy. Its coercion to get people to buy the dlc, and its shady. You'll convince people to buy your products MORE if youre generous with them instead of greedy. Youre more likely to trust a company and buy more of their products if they havent screwed you over before. And that's exactly what happened here.
-
9 RepliesNo, because they aren't locked out of those activities. It is just that some weeks those activities take place on content they didn't purchase.
-
Maybe it's just coming from the world of call of duty, if you wanted more content and to have access to other parts of the games you had to get the DLC, I get why people are upset but then this kind of system has been in place for years. Its hard to have a game out now and it not have some kind of paid content. But that's just my opinion.

3 RepliesEdited by YahyaTV: 1/6/2015 2:08:14 PMDailies, Weekly and Nightfall are not content. They are a form of content delivery system. One can sensibly assume that DLC strikes will come up on the rotation.
-
Cor, still a hot topic eh? I think that non DLC players need a worthwhile strike playlist at the very least. Nerfing Tigers rewards with no alternative is somewhat concerning. The rest could merely be a byproduct of design, the tiger strike thing looks suspiciously like strong-arming...

I care about the (occasional) lockout, but I think it's an open question whether Bungie can do anything about it at all given the infrastructure they built. I hope they're giving it some serious thought before the Comet DLC hits, though, because (if the leaked image is still correct) DLC strikes will outnumber non-DLC strikes.

If you can pay your monthly subscription to Xbl or PSN. I don't know why you can't spend money on the Expansion.
-
Seems a shame .
-
Just buy it. Its like a subscription in FFRR only it isnt monthly and comes out every 3 months or so.

1 ReplyEdited by Sn1ff7y: 1/6/2015 2:04:29 PMCan none DLC players hit lvl 31 ?
-
Absolutely not.
-
4 RepliesIt's all about buying a product and being able to access all that product's content, then being denied access to some of that content just because you don't pay for something extra. Bad design choice and there should be a non-dlc option when the new content is selected.
-
Honestly, who cares
-
No. It's twenty bucks.
-
Zero -blam!-s given

I have access but f if I'm running that shiz

9 RepliesBoo hoo. Too bad so sad. For all the non-DLC people complaining about this...you are what's wrong with America. Your T-ball teams finished last in the league so your parents complained that "it's not fair that the 1st place team gets a trophy and we don't, we tried really hard!" So what's the T-ball league do? They give everyone a trophy. It sucks not being able to do the NF, I feel for you on that. But good lord why don't you non-DLC whiners do something about it (Buy the DLC) instead of crying on the forums. It's quite pathetic. Go back to t-ball

3 RepliesThis is my opinion. I know others won't share it. We've known for a long time Destiny was going to be the type of game that needed the expansions if you want to keep playing. A lot of people say they can't afford it- well if you afforded a $400 machine and the $60 game $20 shouldn't be a wallet breaker. I also hear others saying the DLC isn't worth $20. I've personally gotten 60+ hours of game time out of the DLC so that's worth $20 to me. Base line is Bungie is putting the Daily Story, Weekly Heroic and Nightfall as DLC missions to entice you to buy the DLC. If you don't want to that's your choice. But it's only going to get worse when House of Wolves launches and if the rumors of Comet and the other 2 DLCs are true the 'Vanilla Destiny' won't exist in a years time. Evolve with the game and get the expansions or stop playing. Remember this is MY opinion.
-
It's their choice and their wallet, if they want the DLC they get the DLC, if they don't they don't
-
5 RepliesDefinitely wasn't expecting those results. I guess this is the Destiny community.
-
3 RepliesIf anyone has at any point played WoW, they know that destiny is WAY cheaper. No monthly fees and $20 expansions. Where as WoW has monthly fees and $40-$60 expansions. Bungie is being nice compared to other companies. Just know, not buying the DLC is going to punish you late 2015. You have been warned.

Edited by Lazuliv: 1/6/2015 8:46:25 AMThey should make it undying mind so people who didn't buy the DLC AND Xbox can't do nightfall for a week. Exclude some? No, exclude all!
