Single player version of fireteam necessary tasks

On my XBox One, I have grown tired of playing alone because no one I know owns Destiny for the same console I do (2 on PC, 1 on PS4, 2 on XBox 360, etc.) so I need to explore people outside my usual pool. I can't access (or complete) most of the game's content without a fleshed out and leveled up fireteam (raids, strikes, VOG, Crota, etc.), so currently I own the equivalent of half a game. I tried online forums, but groups fill fast and I can't input every new person's XB live tag fast enough apparently. I tried in game invites by approaching people at the Tower, but no one accepts. I can't seem to get anyone by using the "roster" option. I finally had some random person send me a fireteam invite yesterday and I was so excited, but couldn't find any way to accept it! I searched the roster area but the invite wasn't there. I pushed my guide button but couldn't locate it on my dashboard. I even went to my friends list (taking me completely out of the game) and can't find it there. I'm so frustrated just simply trying to play my game with other people at this point. My questions pertaining to this are: 1) Will there ever be a matchmaking function to create fireteams for all content areas (or even external to specific events, like a Tower board to post/accept fireteam invites), given how central it is to the gameplay? 2) How do we accept fireteam invites in game (or at all)? I love the concept of this game. The idea of needing others to complete harder goals and objectives appeals to me (if the reward is proportionate at least). But if the game can't facilitate a quick and easy way to do this, why is the game designed without single player only functionality all throughout?

 • Clans are essentially groups, but if you're actually a clan member their tag shows up in game under or beside your name. Fireteam invites are the same as game invites on XB. They'll either pop up or you can accept them from the dashboard in the notifications at the top left of the screen. I don't know if Bungie will ever put matchmaking into everything. Posting in #recruitment is usually how I find people. I either post in an existing thread or make my own and end up with replies in a few minutes. A great way to make friends is to read through #recruitment and find people that need help with a mission. If you enjoyed playing with them, add them as a friend. Doing that has filled my friends list with enough people to almost always have a raid team available. If you'd like, add me as a friend on XBL, gt Vysi. I'll gladly help with whatever if I'm online and have time :)
