is there actually a way to get legendary/ exotics as a reward
I'm wondering if there's any way to get legendary/exotics as reward other than from the nightfall and raid. So far I haven't seen any legendary or exotic rewards In anything I've done.

Anytime you get an engram as a reward it can be legendary or exotic.

Daily heroics missions and public events are usually good for 1-2 ascendant materials. Roc strikes are probably the most reliable way to get legendary engrams once every several games.

They drop in crucible from time to time and legendary engrams have a chance to be exotics so Roc strikes would be a decent bet.

there are several places, but I would suggest ROC's legadary engrams are pretty common, and i have seen a few exotics drop.
