I just received my xb1 for xmas, and have to say, first few days were very clunky in the multi-tasking area, but it's definitely getting more intuitive for me once I got the hang of snap... What I want to know is why no voice message for xb1?? And if I want to message a rando-player not on my friends list, why can't I just compose a message? Am I just missing something on these two questions?

  • You mean like just wandering players? You can, just press the button you normally would when you check out a player, gamer profile and send messege.

  • Sry. I mean players found thru LFG. As it stands I have to go to the home screen, then open the friends, then hit search for player...be real nice if I could snap open friends then search, or snap open messages and just type in their name, cause it seems to me I can only compose to people on my friends list when I snap open messages.

  • Oh I see... Erm..I think you can but I can't remember where now..basically it's like On the 360 where you find players you last met/played with..

  • So, on 360 I only had to go to home, messages, compose new and enter any gamertag. There doesn't seem to be a way on xb1 to compose a message to a player not on my friends list without going to friends list, then search player, then open their profile then send message. Again, am I just missing something? Like maybe a message preference setting to change?

  • Also, just wanted to add that on the 360, after the point of entering any gamertag, there was a choice to enter text or record voice...don't seem to be able to record a voice message at all on the xb1, as well as it specifically says the xb1 is unable to play back any voice received from the 360...
