I've never gotten past the first part of the Crota Raid with all the thrall around even with a fireteam. i've tried experimenting on my own to see if theres any other way to run down the path safely but nothing seems to work. Can any fellow Guardian help me resolve this?

3 Repliesthere are 2 ways to beat it legit that we do. everyone just run together stopping for a few seconds at each lamp and having people throw grenades behind you and if you have a defender titan with the helm of the saint 14 he can pop his bubble and blind all the thralls and they will die when the lamp explodes gives you a little while without thralls behind you and do that all the way to the top. There is a map you can see that shows you where everything is too. Or if you are having problems doing it that way you can have 2 people with high agility run through all the lamps as fast as they can and eventually the thralls do stop spawning behind them like 3 lamps behind eventually they will get to the spot right before the last lamp and they get killed there all the enemies will keep attacking their ghost. Then everyone else just walks up and kill the stragglers and then get up to where the 2 dead people are kill the enemies rez them then run into the bridge spot and start fighting.

You should be able to do it with your hunter on blade dancer. Make sure to have all your perks in invisibility. Run big circles around the lamps to get all weight of darkness off if you lose cloak for a minute and move on.
-
Shoot the cursed thralls(or boomers) as you go. When someone gets to the lamp turn and unload to help anyone lagging behind. Also it helps if the last throws a grenade at their feet to slow down the thralls if there is a big group. Only sit at the lamps till your weight is at a 2 then take off for the next one. This is my teams way and we can get a full fireteam to the lamps no problem now.

Stay together in a group don't leave people behind. Takes a few minutes but you will get there. Once on the platform strikers with concussion grenades are a godsend. And defenders with the 14 equipped and leveled.

1 ReplyRun to the 3rd light and jump up on to the rock behind it, if you stop in the top left corner it blows you across the map leaving the thralls behind, there's a video somewhere Al look for it if you need it, it shows you how to do raid up to boss solo !!!!

I prefer using "Voidfang Vestments", axion bolt, and annihilate with bloom. Bloom is very important for mass enemies for a void user.
-
Use the second lantern to launch me half way across the map. Run the rest of the way since all the adds are aggroed somewhere else Go invis 4 times at the bridge and walk across like a boss Ive done this like 12 times already :D

It's simple.....RUN! lol

Edited by SOG Deadpool: 12/30/2014 3:48:46 PMI hear the striker's flash bang grenade is great for hordes as well as Fist Of Havoc being great as a panic button. Maybe have a Titan or two with this? And stick together. Do that too. If someone dies, leave them. Especially if you're close to the bridge. Remember: Only one person has to make it over the bridge (Hunters are faster). Warlocks do great damage with both classes, but Voidwalker is the one to go with to clear huge thrall hordes.

Edited by Wrathful: 12/30/2014 3:48:12 PMLike many have said, you just need to stay in a group and kill the thrall at each lamp. You don't need to drop your weight to zero either, just enough to run to the next lamp. Using an assault rifle helps too, since they die really easy.

Keep moving and leave those who die behind. It sounds terrible but you should be able to get through. But stop at the lanterns and kill thralls to get rid of some of the weight of Darkness.

2 RepliesEdited by Sephiroth X01: 12/30/2014 3:43:34 PMI lead my fireteam through every week make sure everyone hears you. once everyone's darkness goes down below 3 first person to run to the next lamp says go. Everyone follows now when someone dies in my raid the first words out of my mouth are -blam!- em' keep going and don't look back. not always do I get the whole fireteam through but you only need a few in the end me and my buddy today were the only 2 of 6 to make it haha he died and I waited for a few seconds to self reZ when the path was clear. my biggest tip is when someone is moving to the next lamp say go and always tell your team when they should cover you cause it doesn't take much to turn around and prevent your friend from dying so more make it to the end Also fatebringer is boss

Basically you run to every lamp until you know which ones you can skip. By reaching each lamp you decrease the weight of darkness. Try to get your whole team to get to 0 stacks as it stacks up to 10 where you cannot run at all. When the light begins to turn orange it will soon blow up so move away from it to the next lamp even if you still have stacks. The key is to stay together. As you reach each lamp you also must turn around and kill thralls for the teammates behind you or you yourself. I can't remember how many lamps there are but at some point you will reach a summoning platform for a bridge. You will need to stand on that to activate it and hold your ground for maybe 2 minutes(I don't know the exact time). While you are there you will have to kill tons of thralls, cursed thralls, Knights, and of course ogres. At least one person must survive long enough to run across the bridge until it ultimately teleports you to the next phase.

1 ReplyIf your group has classes with grenades such as the warlocks vortex or miniature sun (forget the name & I play warlock lol) the you can kind of move the thrills as you'd like. They actually will stop for the grenade or attempt to move around it.

Its amazing how many people didnt answer the guys questions ! It turned into a convo about cheesing raids. Anyway...I don't know so I really cant asnwer it. I've never actually done a fresh run of crota...never had time so I just ran towards the lights and got the buff and used grenades and the vex to keep the thralls back
-
2 RepliesAs a group. Bring a titan with helm of saint-12(or14?).
-
Any grenades that pulse (ex. sunsinger warlock, striker Titan) are very helpful because the thrall won't run into a pulsing grenade once you throw it. Try to toss a couple of these ahead of you when shit gets hectic then run thru it
-
1. Start the raid 2. Shoot thrawl (preferably with bullets) 3. Run to lamps

1 ReplyEdited by errdayimshuffln: 12/30/2014 3:30:29 PMWhat I do is I communicate when everyone is at a light when to move together to the next one. If I get to a light first I run in circles around it shooting thralls that are attacking my friends who need to catch up. When my teammates catch up we go to the next one. If I reach a lamp way to early, I don't get close enough to activate it until everyone is closer. Finally once I get to the bridge, I walk across the activation circle to activate it then go back to help my friends. There is no need to stay on the circle.

1 ReplyUse Ice breaker. The thralls are packed so tight you can "no scope" into the crowd to clear them. Keep the team together. The more people who make it to the last bit the better but one can just about manage if they're good at staying alive. Like most things it's actually quite easy once you've done it a few times.
-
I run. We run. They chase me. They chase us. One team mate stays at the spawn and laughs at our screams. He then walks calmly through the darkness as no more thralls spawn. He rezzes those that have fallen and we kill a couple of ogres and halo bounce towards the light. I run it dozens of times each week as it's the most fun to be had in this game

Here is a guide when I solo'd the raid :) enjoy http://youtu.be/hJHwRfdsWhU

Either fight your way trough as a group or go AFK while a hunter fireteam member solo's it...
-
Easy answer would be .. Communicate, move as a group, use a weapon with firefly perk.

Edited by TheGodAmongMen: 12/30/2014 3:23:22 PMWe move as a group waiting for everyone before activating the next lamp(frist few we don't.) Once the runs get longer we just wait far enough away so that we can take the wieght off the straggelrs. Moving as a group has made playing with randoms 100x easier... All 3 times we did this strat this week we had all 6 people alive at the end and the only people who died the 3rd time happend to be sunsinger. The first time we did it not a single person died. Once you get to the forming of the bridge, I always jump on that small rock(it's beside the last lantern to the left if your back is to the bridge, let the lamp blow up first.) where the thralls/knights can't hit you and start blasting the ogres(3 spawn) More people can be on the rock, but 2 is the most I would send. After the bridge forms you will always have the 1-2 on the rock alive if the ogre were dealt with effectively, they can just jump and sprint to the end. remember to jump the cursed thall on the bridge.

Max agility, move as a group, try not to shoot anything while running. Stop at the lamps to reduce darkness and call out the holes for your teammates. If you at leading the pack, turn around and toss a grenade to help the guys in the back, the you become the guy in the back and the lead guy does the same for you. Teamwork is key for this.
