Should Bungie Ban/Strip Crota raid cheaters poll

Yes, if Bungie can see repeat offenders.

56

No, cause legit players will get put in the crossfire.

356

Straight forward. Just post "voted" if you vote. Point: "If" Bungies concurrency center tracks all errors, bugs, codes etc... It's feasible that repeat offenders have logged the same cheat transpiring over and over. However, for those who were in a Crota Raid where the kneel glitch was pulled off once, or even twice it's also possible Bungie wouldn't be able to determine repeat offenders legitimately.... and could accidentally hand out bans or strip items from those players as well. IMO this is also possible for the simple fact... The kneel glitch exists, AND the VOG was crudded up 3 weeks. Ya might as well vote, get yourself heard.

  • No because of the simple fact that it's not the person's fault that there able to cut a corner In a game that is broken to begin with. It's so funny hoe people cheese it that I believe bungie wanted everyone to do it in order to keep playing and get to level 32

  • I've ended up "cheesing" twice because of lag in the party and someone got booted. They joined back after several minutes of trying to join the party. We got lucky on the time they got booted. It would punish a lot of players for doing it the legit way if bungie punishes player for cheesing it.

  • I try to put together a raid every week and 75% of the people ask if we are cheating the boss and when we say "no" they leave. The problem will be self rectifying if Bungie can fix it themselves.

    • This is exactly why they didn't release the hard mode raid right away. They knew people were going to be able to cheese it. When hard mode raid is released only the best of the best will be able to complete the raid.

      • I do a mixture of normal run through and cheese while it's available. As I have 3 characters it saves me spending my life raiding. However we still regularly run it full to make sure when it is patched we can still beat it in a good time. Normal or cheese makes no difference it's fun to do both. The first day of the Crota raid we spent 13 hours doing it and that has come down as we got better at it. Bungie has never said this is how you complete the raid it's up to us to work out how to beat them and that brings variety and fun.

      • Gaming is supposed to be done for fun, and if cheesing is someones idea of fun then why should they be punished for it? If it was something that infringed on someone else's fun such as cheating in the crucible then I can understand. But when you are just taking advantage of a glitch that was already in the game then what's the issue? I've cheesed my way through plenty of raids but eventually bungie will patch it and ill have to do it legit anyways.

        • I'm still struggling a bit to understand why anyone should be banned for cheesing PvE, especially given that there is no trading in the game. Other than the elitists getting their pride hurt, it's not like players getting guns from Crota has ANY impact on anyone else. Not even PvP - you saw how quickly Bungie nerfed the Mythoclast, seemingly without a solution for it in PvE. They won't let PvP become too unbalanced. Makes sense. From that perspective cheesing Crota often helps other players rather than disadvantaging them. At least they get to play with the new Raid guns (which are awesome!). Crota legit is a solid team effort, meaning plenty of random teams just won't get it done. Trading would ruin the game community though. How long until the forums are flooded with posts selling Necrochasms for $10 a pop? You'd have more advertising than Facebook.

          • Bungee didn't playtest their game enough to find the issues that allowed people to cheese the raids players should not be punished for being able to find these issues for bungee and exploiting them if they didn't want people to cheese raids they should have found the glitches themselves

          • I still play the hell out of this game, but I have no issue cheesing Crota. Like the dude below me said..
There's nothing else. So, in order to alleviate the soul-crushing boredom of a material grind that is ten times more difficult than the lack of content has any right to be; people (by human nature) look for the most efficient way to maximize the reward (i.e. crafting mats) with the least amount of effort/time necessary to achieve that reward (i.e. "cheesing").
That perfectly sums it up. I like playing and leveling, but because it relies on Raid mats and gear to actually hit max level, instead of max level being something everyone can get and THEN we go Raiding to get better gear, I don't feel one but sorry for cheesing. But at the same time, I don't mind doing it legit. Whatever my pug wants to do is fine.

            • To each their own I guess. I've knocked my fair share of Templars off before the fix and i have cheesed the bridge twice because of time constraints.... But we spent five hours trying to beat crota that first night, swore we wouldn't look at any YouTube videos till we got thru the entire raid once (totally missed second chest lol ). And when we finally beat him the following day it was awesome!!!! I got the black hammer... After six hours spent on just crota and now some dick is running around with that gun after -blam!-ing five minutes!!!!!! Lol. That my friends is LIFE....

            • MkVII posted this below, I've quoted it here for reference and to direct a thought at the OP.
The problem will be self rectifying if Bungie can fix it themselves.
Yes it will. The player population will plummet which will reflect poorly on the success of the game and shake investor confidence. That'll have a snowball effect and lead to all sots of things. There's no content in this game, and definitely not enough content to hold Destiny until "Destiny: the Deuce out of ActiBungie's Ass" comes out. That's one of the main reasons why people cheese these raids. There's not much else to do in the game, but you still have to grind out crafting mats that are only found in these laughable "Raids". So, after the first time through, they get boring as piss. So the grind for those mats becomes horrifyingly mind-numbing. Even other bigger, better MMO's at least have tons of content to tackle if you get tired of grinding mats and need to step away for a bit to do something else in-game. Destiny? There's nothing else. So, in order to alleviate the soul-crushing boredom of a material grind that is ten times more difficult than the lack of content has any right to be; people (by human nature) look for the most efficient way to maximize the reward (i.e. crafting mats) with the least amount of effort/time necessary to achieve that reward (i.e. "cheesing"). Bungie wants to stop the "cheesing"? Force us to play "the way they intended" (which goes completely against everything that they advertised this game to be; a free-roam, planet-hopping, content laden, nigh-completely customizable characters)? Then they need to (almost literally) start shitting out content. Compared to other games (not just other RPG's/MMO's/FPS's/etc.), Destiny has as much content as a poorly made indie game. Sure Destiny is pretty to look at, but it's empty. For this being their "most ambitious game we've ever attempted", they didn't put much ambition or effort into this game at all. Want the cheesing to stop, Bungie? Actually give us something else to do then.

              • As sad as it is to 'cheese' bosses and whatnot, I don't feel like you should be allowed to ban people for utilizing something that is Bungies fault and job to fix anyway. If nothing else its almost like play testing.

Banning players off an entire -blam!-ing online service, purchases, games, music, movies etc etc.. All that for catering to the little complaining -blam!- -blam!- pvp -blam!-s who cry "unfair advantage" when THERES NO DAMN LEVEL ADVANTAGES IN CRUCIBLE Getting banned in one game is one thing, but to tattletale and getting the user banned off a full -blam!-ing service because he exploited games flaws is just damn wrong.. Its quite disgusting tbh that someone would that butthurt to do such -blam!- to other players

                • I agree that the exploit needs to be addressed and fixed, but banning people or removing their equipment would be a bad move. After all they didn't do it with atheon or the templar, so I doubt they'll do it now. Also, some people have a hard time getting a competent group together that doesn't just want to cheese him.

Your poll questions are biased and skewed. Bungie shouldn't ban anyone bugging/glitching the content they released because it's their fault the bug/glitch exists in the first place. It has nothing to do with 'legitimate players being in the crossfire' as to why no one should be banned and everything to do with Bungie being the ones who screwed up the raid in the first place. If they don't want players 'cheesing' then they should make it impossible. Did you run the VoG? Did you push Templar off the ledge? Did you push Atheon off? Should you be banned for it? Of course not. That would be absurd right? Except it's precisely the same concept. If you want players banned for 'cheesing' Crota, AKA using a bug/glitch that exists in the game to take him down easier than intended, and you yourself ever used bugs/glitches (pushing Templar/Atheon off the edge) to gain the same 'advantage,' then you're a pathetic hypocrite. P.S., every single person who ran VoG pushed Templar off, everyone who ran VoG before they hastily patched Atheon pushed him off, because it was the easiest and most effective way to get it done. Why is Crota any different? Oh that's right, because kiddies be butthurt that others are getting lewtz. QQ Why does anyone even give two shits as to how a player obtained their drops from raids? How does it impact you in any way, shape or form?!
