I know a Hydra continually spawns at the Black Garden gate, but are there any better places to farm them? They don't show up in missions regularly enough to just play the game and let it happen on its own. Been playing since day one, over 500 hours logged, and I've only killed 125 total...
Same goes for Ogres. Ogres and Hydras are the last "kill x amount of enemies" Grimoire cards I have (I think). Any suggestions are appreciated!

Here's the issue I'm facing that lead me here: (I'm currently farming the Black Garden entrance on Mars in Patrol) I can kill the Hydra and have it respawn two or three times, but then the portal activates (I can't go through it, but it's active) and no more enemies spawn until I leave the Mars Patrol and return... which is, needless to say, very annoying. I'm currently at 154 of 250 Hydras and thinking this isn't going to be worth it.

8 RepliesJust keep in mind that it has to be standard red bar ogres and hydras. Hallowed ogres and axis hydras do not count toward grimoire.

Shrine of Oryx for ogres Black Garden mission in front of portal for hydra. You can kill several hydras if you patrol mars and sit near the portal and wait for the respawn.
-
You look nice today

For Ogres, go to the Shrine of Oryx mission. At the end there is an ogre that spawns, kill it, then jump off the platform (kill yourself), repeat. Note: you must do this on the lowest difficulty, any other one will spawn a yellow health ogre, which won't count towards your total.

Well at least for the hydras the winters run strike produces about 4 of them that you can confront and that strike isn't too long if your willing to do it multiple times. It's still a grind either way.
-
2 Replies4 hydras in winters strike but that takes a while to get all of them. Many spawn in that area with the 20 minotaur a in patrol, past the vault gate

4 RepliesEdited by Apocy93: 4/22/2015 11:56:59 AMfor ogres, get 6 titans and go to crotas end on the first part at the bridge before u cross, everyone pop bubbles on the plate and just melle all the ogres that come ur way, they are red bar hp, so they count. Hydras, patrol on mars is the best way in my opinion at the black garden gate, its time consuming, bring friends that need it aswell so u can take turns sniping so u dont get bored

1 ReplyThere's an ogre that spawns in Skywatch. It's either him or a knight. There's a Hydra that spawns in the Citadel too.
-
1 ReplyMoon patrol for Ogres. Run down through temple of Crota and that area and you should run in to 3-4

1 Reply5 in the undying mind strike I think at the beginning

5 RepliesOger: I farmed the chamber of night mission and killed the oger at the end. Left right after killing him. Went back into the mission and had the checkpoint. Hydra: There are 4 in the winter run strike. It takes a while to get to the other 3 though. You can also camp the area on Mars were you go into the black garden. There's one that spawn there every like 30 seconds.
-
Hydras spams every minute at mars, the one you kill to activate the portal. Get icebreaker, and sit farming while you find a raid...
-
Undying mind if you have PlayStation, there is about 4 in the first part
-
The Hydra one u can go to the black garden gate the hydra will continue to respawn
-
Ogre: shrine of orix, last checkpoint (you probably have it because of the "kill the giant green knight in that mission" bounty) kill the ogre, kill yourself, do it again Hydras: you already know, black garden gate but sometimes a hydra spawns in the citadel on venus
-
1 ReplyI guess you could try and farm the bridge on Crotas end, then wipe before rewards are dropped.
-
Go to the black garden in Mars and let the enemies spawn from the portal but don't enter it and u can farm all 250 hydras in two hours
-
Ogres are shrine of oryx before the tunnel to the shrine kill and wipe, just make sure not to put a heroic modifier on or they won't count
-
I think there's a hydra that normally spawns in the buried city on Mars. Also by the gate to the Black Garden. Ogres would be on the Moon at the Temple entrance and a few spawn in the tunnels. Sometimes in the cosmodrome beneath the area with the destroyed helicopters where the Hive and Fallen have their war (most of the time it's a knight major though).
