1. Nothing will change for the current raid.
2. Raid matchmaking will require a mic.
3. Level requirement for hard raid.
4. A lobby system could also be implemented.
5. No one will get matchmake added to a raid in progress.
6. There would be a reporting and vote system to kick players inactive or trolling.
And to all you nay sayers here is a realistic look at how matchmaking will actually get used.
Most of the players matchmaking will be in fireteams of 2-4 players. Most people have a couple people they play with regularly but not 6. and those are players that WANT to do the raid so they will be prepared. This idea that 6 random people will always match up is just plain wrong, in fact I doubt that would ever happen (but so what if it does).
So, you see, pretty simple to implement a responsible raid matchmaking system that would benefit ALL destiny players. Not to mention the benefit to bungie, significant increase to player retention and more players wanting to purchase the DLC's.
Using the raid to exclude players is just wrong and a form of discrimination. It creates a false sense of superiority to the players who are fortunate enough to have a group they can raid with regularly.
Peace out.

1 ReplyI use the Raid matchmaking all the time. Not sure what yer carrying on about. You just go to the Recruitment thread and send a msg or post looking for players. It never takes me more than 3 minutes to jump into any activity...crota, vog, nf. Do you have a friend who can maybe walk you thru how to navigate the threads and send msgs thru your console? It's easy...you'll be able to get the hang of it in no time...

1 ReplyAnd to your nay sayer argument, you are saying that they will always be in groups of 2-4. You respond to your own argument that 1 destiny player can just go through the match maker. You also never bring up any evidence that no one is going to go in alone. Long story short. A high level activity is a endgame activity. Endgame activities are activities that require a person to gather 5 JUST 5 other people. If you can't do that then you are just too lazy, don't have any friends, or just don't have any time to play destiny.

Edited by Turtleman13: 5/12/2015 10:53:26 PMBungie isn't going to do this. A raid is a endgame activity. Bungie wants you to put it together. You want a lobby? Go to the tower and invite LVL 31-32 You want a set level? Go to reddit. There are tons of them like the one in today's spotlight. Need to kick trollers? Ask the fireteam Leader to do it. Guys it only takes 30 minutes to go ask for people on the forums/raid finders or going to the tower and invite people. Before you start whining about I only have 30-1 hour :'( :'( :'(. Then you don't have enough time to do the raid. Each part of a raid should take you a min of 20 mins, and that is not counting for failures. The only reason anyone would want a match maker, and you know it is because just because I have somebody else and I am looking for another person doesn't mean I am not searching for somebody else, is so that you don't have to take the small amount of time it takes to actually look for other people

6 RepliesBut I don't use a mic, I wouldn't be able to use matchmaking and I'm super good at shooting things and I can even slice stuff with the hive sword real fast

Mandatory - no! Optional - fine by me, but I have my doubts it will work for everyone.

Edited by RübblyRanch: 5/10/2015 2:09:43 PMFor the very first time, I can somewhat agree on raid matchmaking Somewhat...
nah, no matchmaking
2 RepliesThe lobby system could actually be the best way to handle MM. Where you don't just click the raid and get matched. Instead you go to an in game LFG Lobby. You browse lobby's that are open with certain requirement fields. Like level, number of players, raid completions, even certain gear and so forth. When you see a lobby whose criteria you meet you are allowed to request entry to lobby(or have an option allowing people to join right up). You are taken to the chat area of that lobby where you can talk and they can inspect you to confirm equipped gear/level etc. (Although game should scan equipped items and everything itself) and to find out the roll you can play. Then everyone can decide if they want to play together. To keep it optional you just start a lobby and set the 5 slots to 'reserved'. That way your friends can join up when they are ready. While it wouldn't be quite as fast as standard MM, it would still give people full control over their fire team. Which is very much needed in the raid. You have to absolutely have a way to have a leader that is able to kick people. Anyone who has raided knows this! So no matter what it would need to go further than straight up match making that we've seen in destiny. I think an in game lobby LFG is the best all around solution that I've been able to think up, so far. None of this needs to be any fancy 3d rendered area or anything. Just a menu screen would be enough.

Raid matchmaming should be implemented on normal not hard

1 ReplyWith those 3 31s I'm sure you just need a team to carry you. Being in match making forces you to be with a group regardless of rank. Pathetic

5 RepliesI don't see why matchmaking is needed when Raid to 3 is readily available.

What a novel idea. I would love to able to do a raid, but I only have a couple of friends who play destiny. I would rather not have a friends list full of random whom I've never met, which seems to be the only way to get a raid team going.
