Everyone has a KD. Are you sweat and must win. Or do you enjoy shitting on high KD then bagging for fun
-
1 ReplyMy highest k/d in a crucible match was a 15.0, I got a double phantom and never died
-
2 Repliesdepending on how long someone has played the game. i have been working for a while to get a 1.0+ kd, but this was much harder because of how trash i was when i started playing destiny. i average 0.90-2.0 kd from game to game, but the gap that i started out with really kills my kd.

Are we talking about game to game or overall?

3 RepliesEdited by Revan: 1/7/2016 3:33:51 AMTo answer your question, yes. Anything over a 1.0 is good. I have a friend who has a 2.26 k/d in crucible and he is ranked like #250. That is unbelievably great. I have many friends in the 1.3 to 1.6 range and they all go flawless in trials fairly consistently. That is pretty good too. This is all based off "overall averages" in crucible. Obviously, if we are talking about single games then a 1.0 is ok, but having a way higher k/d is possible. My overall k/d is like 0.76, but in a single game I've had k/d's in the 7.0 to 8.0 range a few times.... I've had 36, 37 kills in some games too. I had a 7.5 k/d yesterday..... thats great, but I'm not great over the course of all my games played... my averages.

14 Replies1.0 average. 1.3 respect. 1.5 good. 1.7 strong. 2.0+ try hard raging nerd who plays like it's a job.
-
The one that gets you an exotic So anything under .5

2 RepliesHighest kill die ratio I have had in crucible is 3.0

4 RepliesWell.. Some of us are stuck with a shitty average kd atm.. Look at my Hunter 0,78 in kd from around 140+ control matches.. My first game, ended up with a kd of 0,08.. Now I get anything between 1-2, some few times below and above, but mostly between 1-2.. Which means it kinda sucks for me.. That if someone is going to look me up, the kd they will notice is 0,78.. Not how I have improved since I started.. But my average from then to now.

Over 1 and you are helping.

Edited by Ohh Haro Der: 12/28/2014 2:46:28 PMIt depends... if you have a decent KD (above 1) and cap loads of zones then you're good, KD below 1 but cap zones then it's fine as long as it isn't too low, KD of ~1.5 but no zones capped then you're good as long as the team holds 2+ zones otherwise you're borderline. If you have ~2KD and decent kill volume 15+ish then you're fine in any situation but even better if you can cap or defend objectives (I generally defend better, I have a distanced play style)... If you have a KD of above 2 or 2.5ish and don't cap or defend objectives you're fine but if you cap or defend then you're basically a tank for your team (objectives do also include map control such as preventing spawn traps, stealing their heavy ammo, holding points which are advantageous such as C on Blind Watch or Shores of Time instead of A and so on... It's more than KD but I tend to go into the main slayer category that defends around a point instead of being inside capping it to make sure my team mates stay safe or I solo defend a point while my team can go get B, or I try pissing off the other team by nicking their heavy ammo or diving into their spawn and killing one or two of them while blinking about and such in order to stall them from reaching B and so on... I only tend to cap points if I have to because no one else on the team is and in that case it starts looking pretty grim anyway Either way... it depends on your role

3 RepliesEdited by Tsouksan: 12/28/2014 12:41:32 PMKD is only looking at the surface. You also have to factor in other elements of the game to get a feel for a players skill and playstyle to finalize an opinion of whether someone is bad, average, good, or great. For example. Player 1: 3.0 KD, 85.00 Combat Rating, 900 Average Score. Player 2: 1.3 KD, 125.00 Combat Rating, 1650 Average Score. Player 3: 2.2 KD, 145.00 Combat Rating, 2500 Average Score. Player 4: 0.8 KD, 85.00 Combat Rating, 800 Average Score. Those are four different players and depending on the gametype can impact the flow in different ways. Player 1 you'd want to play with in clash due to the high KD. KD is very important in clash as the game is determined by killing more often then dying. This type of player can be seen as someone who plays cautiously and doesn't try to rush in to often by getting overwhelmed by crossfire. Now looking away from the KD you'll see a low combat score and average score per game. This in some ways indicates that this player is not a high volume killer, which in specific gametypes can be a detriment to the team; Control/Skirmish. Player 2 would be someone that is a jack of all trades and a contributor in all phases of the game both in kills and score volume. This is the type of player who can hold their own and occasionally have big games. Effective in all gametypes. Player 3 is someone who has honed their skills and consistently puts up numbers. This person is someone who is usually in the top portion of the scoreboards and is in a way a player who has graduated from being someone who was once Player 2. Player 4 is someone who may not be as acclimated to the pvp arena as much as the other 3. This is a player who sometimes contributes but more often is seen at the middle and bottoms portion of the scoreboard. Now this is just a small sample of the varying factors/elements to consider when looking at KD. It isn't the end all be all. Just a statistic that is in my opinion overanalyzed. This is just an opinion...........

Edited by Guardian9447: 12/28/2014 1:31:37 AMMy opinion: .8 to 1.0 is average. 1.5 is experienced. 1.8 or above shows honed skills. My tip: Be a Hunter. My hunters k/d is significantly higher than my other two. Also, if k/d is important to you... It may be best to avoid the objectives. Pick people off as they go for said objective... this will probably hurt your win/loss stats, however.

6 RepliesEdited by Sir Jecht: 12/27/2014 11:54:19 PM2.0 is good 1.5 is average 1.0 is bad but basic 1.0 > is garbage People say 1.0 is "good" but a good player never goes even
-
1.0 K/D is important. Gotta support that team. Just don't go negative. It doesn't matter in the end. You could be the worst player in the game and still get a legendary or exotic in the end.
-
A 1.0 KD is literally the definition of average. I would call you good at 1.5, great at 2.0 and excellent at 2.6+.
-
1 Reply1.7 is someone I feel like that you have to look out for cause it shows that they can do really good or suck really bad. 2.0 I would say is a consistently good player.
-
i personally call anything close to a 3.0 a good K/D. my warlock has over 3.0 across the board. I'm trying to get my other characters up there, but that takes time lol
-
1.0+ But it depends on your playstyle. I Would rather have people running around taking flags and keeping a 1.0+ KD enstead of teammates who just sits there camping the whole game. Unless it's clash
-
Anything above 1.0 Any positive kd is good, it means that you aren't losing points for you're team, that atleast you have made up for those points with more kills than deaths. Especially if you are proactively capturing or defending zones. I've seen 3.0 folks run right by a neutral zone to hunt someone to kill. Those people belong in clash.

1 ReplyNot sure I go all over the place, but I think if your about 1.5 your pretty good, my kd is usually 1.5 or 2 but my score per game is quite high, mainly 5000 or 6000
-
Good being a relative term. I would say 1.0 would be good. Anything above that is above average to great. Honestly I think average is around .80-1.0. I think the mojority of the time the Superstars are just stacking kills on bad players. Full disclosure mine is garbage right now but I'm slowly figuring out the nuances of this game compared to other shooters I've played before.
-
1.0 and above, that way you aren't hurting the team.
-
Anything over 1.0 i'd say. As long as you getting more kills than deaths. Or at least breaking even
-
1 ReplyI have I think slightly over a 1 KD but I'm on top every game which is what I care about second to winning.. In control it's not your KD its your kills when you have 2 flags versus your deaths when they have two flags( zones)
