I can go to the store, watch apps, play other games, but I NEED TO BE "CONNECTED" TO XBOX LIVE TO PLAY DESTINY?????

this is really getting old get in game for five minutes get sent to orbit cant get back in,all other games are working just fine,bungie wake up your nerds and get this fixed,didnt spend money on a system to sit and get kicked off severs

2 Repliesbefore you guys go blaming Bungie for this, you can blame Microsoft for this. It probably teh majority fault is Microsoft since they put all their gaming online behind the paywall. chances are, bungie cannot prove that you're signed in. check to make sure you're signed into Xbox Gold Live before booting up Destiny, if the issues crop up, contact M$ and ask them if they're having issues, since Bungie can only let you connect once you've signed online. this is also the same issues on PSN, where players can't play online because they're not "signed in". so, check your connection and most of all, make sure that you're not using other ppl's wifi as well.

I've been getting this error for three days straight on my Xbox One. Not to mention when it does let me play it keeps saying I get removed from my fire team before I can finish anything (it's funny because I'm the only member in my fire team). Loaded the game up on my girlfriends Xbox 360 last night and played for three hours without any problems. Don't know what's going on, if it's because of the hackers: I'm glad to know you have no family or loved ones to spend the holidays with so you have to ruin everyone else's good time with your immature actions that impress no one other than the countless other virgins in your little group, and if it's Bungie: So many problems with your game that you refuse to address. Is it any wonder people are giving up daily on your companies attempt to get back into running the multiplayer aspect of the gaming industry?? You release a game that feels like a final exam turned in by someone trying to graduate from game development and then just sit back and don't fix the things wrong in the game. Instead you worry more about fixing the ways players find to make your ridiculous raids a little easier. Here's a tip... instead of rushing to fix the ways gamers are exploiting certain aspects of your game (which hurt no one because it's 99% PvE) how about you fix all the issues people have in playing the game in the first place.

Same here. Went to the dash and quit the game. Then loaded back up and I'm now playing.

Was gonna ask about this. Thankfully others already have. Sadly for me it's effecting pretty much all my games. Not just destiny, although destiny is the worse. But yeah yesterday I could pretty much not play anything the whole day, and because I let a friend use my home gold I can't even play all my games offline (I went download only this gen).

Just a mass overload of people and the hackers messing with Live doesnt help. For you newbies its been very well up till now. Bungie will fix it. I had to disconnect my hardline and connect via wireless and it let me update and I can play. Still minor issues but working better.

I'm getting the same problem on xbox one yet I'm chatting away to my friends in a party!! Definitely WTF. Bungie have yet again screwed up.

I can't even fix the Wasp error that I can easily fix with a hard reset; it still give me Wasp 100% of the time. And if I don't get Wasp, I get told I'm not connected to XBL.
