Just got the gun from xur cause I was curious, i already knew it was going to be a disappointment. After testing it for a bit I immediately realised the problem, it's a bad sniper rifle. I compared it to my IB sniper that I got last week, it outcompetes NLB in every aspect except range, including it's reserve ammo capacity and it isn't even an exotic weapon. Even the range is negated because my sniper has a scope with a higher zoom than NLB.
So if I can have a gun that is better than NLB without using up the exotic slot, of course I'm going to go for that weapon. Exotic weapons need something unique to make them stand out from other weapons, but other than being a primary sniper NLB has nothing going for it. I personally think it could do with an increased rate of fire and a lot more reserve ammo for starters.
Post your thoughts on this exotic sniper!

I'll still pick it up. Hope they can find a middle way for it. Why snipe with that if you can snipe with a hawkmoon ;)

Well it is a primary sniper. That does make it special hence exotic :-P

3 RepliesInstead of "no land beyond" it should be called "no reason to have"

Eh is keep in case thay super nerf it for those that stuck with it

I can't really see the point in it being equipped in the primary weapon slot, if you could carry more ammo for it I could see it, but I won't waste my primary slot on it.

1 ReplyYeah. I dismantled mine. Everytime I used it I felt like combat had deevolved to WW1 Era weapons. Open sights on an exotic sniper? Slow rate of fire than a potato cannon? Occupying an exotic slot so IB or Gjallahorn can't be used? Worthless.

The thing about NLBF and its iron sights, is that you are supposed to be able to use it in close quarters, compared to other snipers; everything about it screams of this. Sadly the kunt is chit, cause it zooms too much, the bolt action is way too slow (Its so fukin unrealisitc it pisses me off to no end) and there are just too many issues about this weapon, it is just pure and utter garbage.

funny how in the stats the "rate of fire" is nowhere near how long it takes between shots, JUST THE WORST GUN IN WHOLE DESTINY!!!!! Hey Xur, I WANT MY COINS BACK!!!!!!
-
I pulled it from a 26 strike a while back. It felt awkward, really. Like an oversized Scout Rifle.

I still will buy this weapon. Bungie will buff it. Sure. When it get a buff, will be a great weapon.

1 ReplyI am thoroughly dissapointed. This is by far the sweetest looking weapon in the game. Old school bolt action, walnut and blued steel? There was no way I was not going to buy it from Xur. I could live with a lot of shortcomings just for the look if the weapon, but I cannot use it. A primary weapon with minimal reserve ammo. Constantly running out if ammo. Dropping the sights to cycle the bolt? Come on! I would be happy if this was buffed ( or rather de-nerfed) to the point of at least being useable in PVE as a primary weapon. Just reclass it as a scout rifle, give me a decent reserve, and I'll happily persevere with the silly bolt cycle animation. Or put it in the special slot and let me run a hand cannon alongside it. You have pre-nerfed this one to the point of uselessness.

Icebreaker, Black Hammer and patience and Time. 3 good reasons why you will never need or use land beyond.

6 RepliesJust call it "land before time", movie sucked, weapon sucks

It makes prebuff bad jojo look godly

I really like it, but it could use more damage. Especially in crucible.
