As someone who proudly serves his country, guys who impersonate actual service members make me violently angry. I don't fault anyone for wanting a quiet, peaceful civilian life. It's a volunteer force. No one has to serve. I do so that everyone else can enjoy not being bombed by Isis on a daily basis. Bit for the love of all that is holy, don't pretend.
Wanting the benefits without the sacrifice is cowardice. If you want to join the military, I'll happily swear you in. If you want to stay safe at home, that's why the rest of us willingly enlisted or accepted commissions and there is not a damn thing wrong with that choice. But when you pretend, you're an asshole and deserve bad things to happen to you.

No country is perfect, no matter where you live or what you think, there will always be problems. But disrespecting members because they serve is disgusting. I don't know you nor do you know me. Wow... I "ruined" you're life? Gee you shouldn't be that sensitive. Also you talk about "serving" but what is it that you think you are serving by being in the military exactly? It's a machine that takes people with a bad socioeconomic outlook, violent people or honourable people who want to help others and trains and conditions them to go out and kill to expand the resources of energy companies and create instability in the regions invaded to allow international corporations to swoop in and claim resources and acquire the locals as cheap labour, all under the guise of installing democracy or protecting the home country, then sends those poor soldiers back home with disturbing memories and mental trauma, or not at all because they died! it's a -blam!-ing meat grinder.

If I had a governor, I wouldn't email him/her, because no matter what we want our governments to do, corporations will make "donations" and the common peoples demands are drowned out by a torrent of corrupt money

Card carrying democrat from a family that has interracial and lbgt members. U joined because I wanted to safeguard the freedoms I grew up enjoying. I have friends who are Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Buddhist, and Muslim. An asshole is what he is, regardless of anything else. Isis is a bunch of vile creatures that all happen to be Muslim. There are Christian fundamentalists who bomb abortion clinics and deserve the same treatment as every other terrorist. I'm very accepting of people willing to have an intelligent discussion. I'm not accepting of people who devalue basic human rights or disrespecting the sacrifices made by those who came before me. I am also not terribly big on forgiving those actions. Look, you're right about having intelligent discussions, and normally I'd feel like debating you. The thing is I've explained my viewpoint to so many people so many times, and had so many long talks about this to people, but everybody get defensive because it challenges what you have been programmed to believe all your life by everybody around you, so I get no where helping people understand. Besides this is the internet, I'd rather make statements that make people question their beliefs or just get pissed off, that debate people on the forum just to get nowhere, I'll save the long talk for real life thank you very much, so if you think I'm crazy for having such view points how about you look into why someone might think the way I do, do some -blam!-in research.

Yes, there are numerous faults in our system. In my belief, ones caused primarily by the binary nature of American politics. But how lucky you are to live in a system where expressing distrust of the powers that be is protected. In fact, that's part of my oath. I defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. That means should anyone try to crush your freedoms, the military is empowered to defend them, even against the government itself. The document is not the people or the system, and it's the document in which I place my trust. But if it bugs you that much here, then feel free to leave. The Constitution also protects your right to denounce your citizenship. I hear Turkey is really nice this time of year, and there's a free 4 year hotel stay for anyone who wants to trash talk their president

Get back to reality. Everyone is corrupt to some degree. There isnt a government on this earth that isnt corrupt. I rather fight for my family, home and way of life, then fight my own people because they make mistakes. The only innocence in the world is in the handicapped(from birth) or the young. But both cant run a country. Why dont you go back outside spouting "My hands are up"...Terrorist.
