Both are good for pve and pvp as well.
Claws ability to give you double scorch means you can flame shield twice which can save you in a lot of situations. Even the scorch that combusts is funny to do twice but not as useful as shield. Void has a full heal and I used to not like it because you NEED to kill with the melee ability not just any melee, now that you have two charges it's worth a try.
Hotpf ability is awesome for both as well. You don't always need fireborn, sometimes doing the one that gives you an extra shield while radiance is active and becoming a grenade tank is fun in pvp. Sticking a bunch of people with fusions or just randomly throwing fire bolts can turn a match in your teams favor. For pve fusion spam dps can't be beat.
TL;DR
both good but hotpf is better imo, but that's cause the hand cannon boost for my thorn. Plus I like beaning people with sun balls
Claws. Having two shields on deck is much better than a couple extra grenades you'll never use cause you're saving your super until you die. I have both and prefer claws now
Im loving the gloves right now especially when paired with monte carlo. I rerolled a warlock to rerun crota again and since he doesn't have fireborn anymore the extra spammable fire shields give great survivability all times. Who needs radiance anymore?
They are both really great. I'm just now working on the gloves and it does go well with the Monte Carlo. Even without the MC, shields all day is great. Energy drain is good too for the Claws, I guess.
The HoPF is off the hook, though. Rapidly tossing grenades all over and punch/burning anything that gets close is pretty freaking fun.
