[UPDATE 2/25/15] The 1.1.1 Update contains a fix for this issue. If you have not installed this update, please exit Destiny and re-launch to take the patch. If you are still encountering this issue after updating Destiny and following the troubleshooting guide, please let us know.
PLEASE NOTE: This post is ONLY for the Redownloading issue. Please do not post offtopic as it pushes down posts of people who are still experiencing this problem; players that do this will be removed from the thread.
Hello all,
We have been investigating the issue where Xbox One players experience a re-download of a 76mb update every time they play Destiny. We have a few troubleshooting options that we highly recommend players attempt in the order we present them:
Check your internet connection
Are you on a wired or wireless connection? If you are on WiFi or mobile hotspots, we recommend using a wired connection to complete your installation, as sometimes this update is due to the connection failing or hiccuping during the update.
Clear your cache
Clearing the console's cache has been the most successful way of getting out of this state. Please see below for more information as there are two ways to clear the cache on your console. Once it is cleared it will resume your update.
-Launch Destiny on your console (Do not press A to play)
-At the sign on screen (the screen that prompts you “Press A To Play”) press and hold the following buttons for ~10 seconds, or until the game launches : Right Bumper (RB) + Left Bumper (LB) + down on the dpad
-PLEASE NOTE: This button command should only be used on the “Press A To Play” screen
OR
-Completely shut your console off
-Go to Settings
-Go to Power & startup
-Press Turn Xbox off
-Once the console is completely off, unplug the power cord from the back of the console and let sit for ~5 minutes
-Power the console on and re-launch Destiny
Re-launching the game after playing a different game
This issue could also be caused by game installs overlapping each other on your hard drive. Sometimes this can be sorted by simply closing Destiny and launch a recently played game (that is NOT Destiny). Please follow the steps below:
1. Launch Destiny
2. Close Destiny
3. Launch recently played/downloaded game
4. Play for a bit (20-30 minutes is recommended)
5. Close recently played/downloaded game
6. Launch Destiny
At this point, the update will pop up and follow through, and the issue should resolve.
Players who own the disc copy of Destiny have reported that their issue resolved after borrowing a friend's disc and attempting the update, or cleaning the disc. We realize this issue can occur with digital copies, and this solution may not be ideal.
We are aware that these steps may not resolve this issue, and if none of these steps help then re-installing the game may work. Your progress and characters are saved server-side on your account, so you do not need to worry about losing progress if you uninstall. Please know that Bungie is investigating a report on people who cannot resolve this issue with the steps provided. We thank you for your patience as we investigate.

I would like a fix on the weasel disconnect that is messing up everything. I get this error then my xbox makes my party chat not work or it makes my xbox not be able to reconnect to wifi without a full system reboot.
-
This "fix" broke my game more look at the picture I linked and now the update takes even longer to download.
-
It's funny how you don't even reply to us and just let us go on without knowing if you're trying to fix this or not.
-
This has been alive since you released the stupid game. You guys need to get up off the stupid DLC sh** and start working on the update problems. Stop worrying about useless crap that won't be needed if we can't even get in game. This is why online only games suck a hole. No offense.

Xbox one is a terrible system hands down maybe it's time to switch to sony...

After Destiny went down for maintenance, the wasp error came back. I attempted to download it this morning (approx 5:30). It went through with no problem. I figured it was the slow speed of my internet. It was up to 1.15Mb/s from 0.88Mb/s last night, so still slow; however, last night the packet loss was 3%, and this morning it was 0%. If you have a good internet speed and are receiving the wasp error code, maybe you should check packet loss.

This is Ridiculous!!!!! I have spent close to 18 hrs of uninstalling, reinstalling, loading different games, contacting my internet provider etc..... Today I had my internet Techs come check out my connection. They couldn't find anything wrong but suggested that maybe my modem had a problem. Stupid desperate me went and bought a new modem without hesitation hoping like hell this would fix my issue with the wasp error. I was hoping that maybe my modem was lagging and this was causing the code to pop up. NOPE, not the case. New modem in same problem occurs even after following the above steps with both modems. I have focused all of my anger towards my internet provider and it seems that this is just a bungie issue. I will lose interest very soon if I am not able to get back on and this will in turn lose a few more accounts since 3 of us in the same house have a bungie account on 2 different xbox 1's. I have a Clan that I try to Keep very active and have not been able to run the Monday Raid with those that still need it before the reset. I have been frustrated with the lag and interrupted play but this is the first that I have seriously considered quitting. If there is anyone that can help resolve my issue please do so. My desperation is beginning to turn into frustration and will likely cause me to find a new game with far fewer bugs.....#wasp #wtfbungie

Have been getting the wasp error for the last 2 days now and haven't been able to play. Uninstalled the game twice reset the xbox and router countless times and nothing

Didn't know about the button combo code, I'll try that out to see if it fixes the problem next time I get on.

Edited by A Cheese Potato: 2/24/2015 5:26:09 AMI did all of those different options and nothing changed so guess I just can't play for a little while. Damn wasps.
-
I've been getting this for the past 3 days. I've logged well over 300 Wasp errors. I have tried every solution given. This is unacceptable. You'd think this would be fixed by now. I'm moving on to Evolve.

Edited by yield2drummers: 2/23/2015 12:39:39 PMAfter working on Friday, the wasp message came back Sunday after I received a couple of banjo messages (connection lost to destiny servers) Edit: Don't know if this will help, but mine started working again this morning, without doing anything special (though I did uninstall and reinstall everything involving destiny, and attempted the LB+RB+D-Down a few times last night before turning it off until now). It was early in the morning the other day also when it worked. That may be the best time to attempt it, when fewer people are online.
