The Crotas End Emblem Used To Mean Something
Now a ton of unskilled players are cheesing their way through the raid, bungie feel free to acknowledge and fix these issues.
Just enjoy it and don't worry about the time it takes to complete it.

Kinda...if you check your achievements/trophies you'll find that most of the Destiny population hasn't even completed a raid.

1 ReplyYeah, I was one of the 760-ish who beat Crota in the first week and felt pretty pleased with myself. We went in blind, too. Figured the whole raid out ourselves. Then some jackass put a video on YouTube and a week later 180,000 people have beaten it. Oh well, it's just game.

note to all people, make sure you don't have your emblem space full upon completion or you won't get it. It won't be at your postmaster for you like the shader :(

Don't feel bad man, I agree with you. The only people who muster up the internet balls to respond negatively are people who can't do it legitimately or are too lazy to do so. Both are piss poor excuses to cheese Crota

Cheese out of spite for painfully playing a highly potential game, but has virtually less value than it should. I feel like the Staff in charge were told they could make money by Activision, and were more compelled from making money than actually presenting a high quality game that the community wanted. 2 RepliesUh, Crota's End has never been some sort of elitist, super hardcore end game raid. The emblem, shader, and gear were never a status symbol. If you want things like that, go back in time and play WoW in the Burning Crusade era. You got titles, mounts and gear no one else had access to when you completed the über difficult, high-end raids. Raids which fractions of a percent of the playerbase got to experience, and even less completed. This is Destiny, a FPS pretending to liken itself to a MMO. It is inherently easier compared to those actually within that genre due to available mechanics and server stability. Go elsewhere if you are wanting to feel self-imposed elitism.

Emblems and items period in Destiny mean nothing by default outside of the fact you completed the activity that rewards it. The only meaning they have is one that you personally put on it, it is your opinion. Anyone can beat Crota, any one way, and still get it. Thus the only thing it means is you beat Crota. Doesn't mean you did it well, bad, or otherwise. Just that you happened to be there when he died. Congrats.

It still means something. . It means you got loot drops from crota, but that's about it.

1 ReplyMeant something first week doing it legit. Was a great rush. Second week, emblem meant nothing but no sense in whining about it. Good news is hopefully Bungie will fix the glitches before the hard raid release. Bad news is there will probably be more..

2 RepliesI joined a raid yesterday where i was trying to do crota. I had been looking for a group for an hour before and this group wanted to cheese so I said " what the hell i need to get this done." These were some of the most clueless and unskilled players i have ever played with. Off the start, someone would die every time. Once we cleared out all enemies, everybody stayed at the left. (not even the stairs. The first room in the left) whenever i tried to kill swordbearer nobody would move a muscle to help and someone would ask why i dont shoot crota. If i pick up the sword crota would never go down because everybody was using non tracking rockets and primaries.

I will happily buy the rank 3 or 4 sword emblem from Eris.

It hurts your feels. Makes you not feel so special anymore. But you know what? I can understand their point of view. They spent a lot of time and effort and worked at beating Crota. It took skill and timing. Now what the trophy they worked so hard for they feel like it's being just given away to the masses. But by the same point they need to understand the casual gamers point of view too. For most it's not a lack of skill that keeps them from beating Crota it's really more about cohesive team work. So faced with the two options of climbing the stairs to the 100Th floor (everyone can climb stairs, you will get their eventually)or taking the elevator. few will take the stairs. But I get the butt hurt, I do. Calling for bans seems excessive. Because I don't feel the Crota cheese is really any different from the chalice cheese, the bridge cheese, the aetheon cheese the Templar cheese. The wipe and snipe cheese. (Please don't start with the whole user agreement) You are basically bypassing the way the game is supposed to be played. I'm not even going to get into the rockets ban. Which if you remember was only temporary.

Its ok. The blade of crota one from rank 3 eris is cooler anyway. :p

An emblem won't tell you how skilled someone is. Anyone can be carried or get lucky.. Your argument is invalid. If you want it for e-peen reputation, I can't help you other than to tell you nothing in this game gear wise is a testament to skill.

I never thought it meant anything. I beat Crota first day and after we went to orbit 4 of the 6 people had the emblem on. I checked my friends list and more than a few people had it on. I was like -blam!- that ima do me. Have it on all 3 characters, never equipped it once.

Hopefully they'll have an emblem for hard completion after they've fixed all these exploits

i dont really like it. i tend to switch back to my wolf emblem lol. I dont see why it matters what other people have it doesnt effect your game at all.

I much more prefer my emblem with the twin cobras.
