The cryptarc should have a used gun section too where you can get an exotic for half price. So let's say you go there to buy "fate of all fools" and it's 23 coins new, however if you buy a used one it would be 12 coins however being that it is used it would be missing an upgrade meaning you would have 1 less damage or lose 1 perk
