Husk of the Pit drop a scam?
Alright, So I kid you not when I say I have spent all day (7 hours) farming for the Husk of the Pit in both 'Fist of Crota' and patrols. I have literally been killing nothing but Blades, so much in fact that I have fully upgraded two Raid Gear items and my Hard Light. I'm seriously stressed out about this. All my friends seem to just jump into a random match and get it their first try. Is it possible that I'm seriously just extremely unlucky, or is Destiny screwing with me?
Getting super freaking aggravated with this.

Honestly I wouldn't bother farming it. I have been just killing the Blades whenever I come across one but that's it. I was on earth finding ghosts that I missed today and come up on a Blade in the Divide and it dropped. It will eventually drop just kill the Blades when you see one

I've seen a lot of people saying they've done similar things and it wouldn't drop. So you're not alone. I haven't got it yet. I haven't been openly trying to farm it like that, but I've still killed a fair amount of blades with no drop.

I got two the other day one right after the other.

I just went to fist of crota to do the kill 3 crota blade bounty and after my first kill I got the husk of pit. Not knowing what this was I deleted it cause it was white. Then gone back to orbit, go back into the fist of crota and got another husk of pit. This time I took time to look at it and equipped it to see what it was, I liked the green "pew pew" so I kept it just because it looked cool.Went back to orbit, came back to fist of crota for final knight, killed him and got another damn husk of pit. So I have two now and got one each run, figured I'd search it up and see what it offered, then I saw how it could be upgraded, so I kept both XD I guess it's just an RNG thing? And if you're not searching for something you end up finding it. Good luck fellow guardian!

Took me 3 hours to get it last night. Not that it matters, since my reputation isn't high enough to buy the Embalming Orb.

I tried getting it and farmed fist of crota 15 times and I got tired. Then I made a new character and was doing story mode, patrol, and bounties(also eris). I had the bounty to kill 15 hive with sword but it wasn't my priority. I was doing patrols and a sword of crota spawned, I killed it and killed hive. I went to see the bounty, to check how many more kills I needed, and I noticed my prinary slot was full, so I went to delete sone common guns and there it was, Husk of the Pit :) also my friend did not know about this gun, and I told him about it and how to farm for it. It took him 3 tries to get it XD

I'm rank 1 with Eris, used no black wax idol and got mine in 17 attempts. Hopefully that debunks a few myths

I got mine the other day. I had been grinding for it the day before and decided to give up and leave it to chance, and I got it the next day while trying to complete the "kill blades of Crota" bounty. Leave it.

Took me about two hours of grinding, but got it to drop from the fist of crota last night.

Maybe they patched it and it can't drop in fist of crota mission anymore? I haven't been able to get it either

Sucks man, hell I was finishing up eris's quest waiting to kill the knight that spawns with drop ships on a PE in skywatch, after I killed him I was going through and discarding green weapons n army and low and behold -blam!-ing husk of the pit sat waiting in my inventory. Wow I'm still amazed

I spent over 5 days going back and forth to Fist of Crota and farming Blades while on patrol ....Several hours of time spent while doing other random actions throughout the game. Nothing dropped, while my friends were getting double and triple drops....so I gave up. Last night I was doing Patrols with my Level 14 cousin to help him level his 1st character....he was Fireteam Leader, and I got mine from a Blade in Cosmodrome! I was so excited that it finally dropped while I wasn't even trying. As I was showing it off, he goes and equips his....said he had it for awhile and didn't even know it was special.

I have gotten it 3 times now, each time is has dropped I wasn't trying to get it. First time I got it I was riding my sparrow through Earth patrol and passed another guy just as he killed the blade, I didn't even stop or anything and it dropped into my inventory, right place at the right time! The next 2 times were both killing 3 blades for the Eris bounty that day, again no effort really. Just keep trying and you will end up getting it, patients is key.

I got mine randomly from a blade of Crota on earth patrol. I was using my lvl 14 hunter at the time and wasn't using a black wax idol

4 RepliesWhy do you want? Is there a bounty with it? Been clearing every bounty last few days and hasn't come up. I've had a few drop without looking and just dismantled, should I have kept?

I ran the mission got it my 4th time my friend didn't and still hasn't he's ran it over 25 times now

I thought it was BS for a long time but I have it now. Think I killed about 40 Blades.
