  • Thanks for the reply. My PS4 is wired to my router. I have all the relevant ports forwarded. I have a 120 Mbps connection and it works well. I was not experiencing any packet loss while the disconnects were happening - I was running a ping - t to www.bungie.net. If there are any further tests I can do to assist you please let me know. So far this evening I have only had one disconnect (at 1052 PST). I forgot to check the error message. Thankfully since then I was able to get the new raid finished for the first time. I will keep you updated of any further errors.

  • Thanks for the update nocal. A few notes for future troubleshooting you may perform: Bandwidth is not a good indicator for stability or signal strength. A great comparison is imagining your connection represented by a highway. Destiny doesn't require a wide highway, just one with few bumps or potholes. Related, pinging the www.bungie.net server will not be a fair representation for the connectivity Destiny requires. Finally, port forwarding is something we don't recommend for most users. This is a delicate process and in most cases causes more trouble than fixes.

  • Hi BNGHelp0, I do understand a little about networking having been the design lead on a modern network installation for my company 12 years ago. Pinging www.bungie.net can give me some indication of the number of bumps along the way. If there are a lot of bumps then I could see some very high response times. Running a continuous ping means that I can see the results over 20 or 30 minutes or more and pick up any anomalies. Where it does fall down is the size of the packets used - small packets can often pass without bother while large packets will be dealt with slower along the way. Anyway, I was averaging a response time of 20ms and the maximum response time was not much greater than this. The port forwarding is done correctly. Given the fact that Desinty has been working well up until the last few days I am confident in the port forwarding. I am not sure that my ISP is actually passing them, so I have UPNP enabled also on my router. I am giving you PST times for errors - I am 8 hours ahead of PST myself. Recent errors: 1418 Fly - Patrolling Venus 1433 Bee - In the Tower 1442 Anteater - Launching Patrol Mars 1446 Fly - Patrolling Mars 1450 - Heron - Patrolling Mars As previously stated if there are any tests you would like me to perform then please do let me know. I'm back off to patrol Mars.....I should get the other 5 bounties completed in an hour or two.

  • No - they are designed to achieve the same thing but in different ways. Having them both on is redundant, but as mentioned, I am not completely certain that my ISP is passing through the port forwarding.Either way, this is off topic as my connection was virtually 100% up until this week. Bunige have stated that they have noticed a pattern so hopefully will find a fix soon and I will be able to play Desitny to my hearts content over the next 2 weeks,
