Indeed, this is the answer. Leveled up the Husk in about a half hour, just repeating The Dark Beyond (kill all Hive enemies but the Knight outside the Temple entrance, then allow the Knight to kill you). Made some decent Glimmer while I was at it, too (using Black Wax Idols, of course).
