You don't need the DLC to get the DLC? Are you dumb?
New vendor gear is updated, not DLC. Husk of the pit is DLC.

You have to have the DLC to use Eris and do the missions/strike/raid but you do NOT need to have it to get all the new faction weapons / armor and exotics. People without the DLC can get Husk of the Pit but they won't be able to upgrade it to Eidolon Ally because they can't buy the Embalming Orb from Eris.
you do NOT need to have it to get all the new faction weapons / armor and exotics.
I never said they did, I said the opposite.

Edited by XiX GhOsTx XiX: 12/19/2014 12:34:01 AM
Wrong. You need the DLC to gain a DLC specific weapon. Updated weapons are NOT DLC weapons, the Husk of the Pit IS
Which is totally incorrect. Almost all the faction gear is *new* stuff, not just updated as it has new names/stats. You can tell the difference because it has a 1 in the corner. You do not need the DLC to get those weapons (except the raid weapons / murmur). In fact, if you go back and read the updates Deej will tell you the same thing. I ran the Nightfall this week with a friend that hadn't got around to buying the DLC yet because of troubles at home, he got No Land Beyond which is an exotic that came with the DLC. Also, the first people to get the Husk of the Pit were trial users, they also didn't have the DLC.

Edited by Mabus51: 12/18/2014 8:29:09 PMNo, the vendor gear is DLC loot. That's why it has the Roman numeral 1 in the corner of the loot. All loot is available to everyone whether you purchased the DLC or not. The only exception is Crota's End raid gear. Also Husk of the Pit is not a mission nor is Eris even needed to obtain it. It's a random drop like everything else.
