Never thought I would say this but holy cow! It is way too easy to get into the raids now and the under-levelled weapons/lack of experience can be so frustrating.
Edit: I am talking about level 30 raids here. I would never talk this way about normal mode.
Edit 2: I am trying to be as un-elitist as possible, I will usually solo the nightfall each week and put a post up offering any lower levels who want to be pulled through, no problem, but the level 30 raids are a different animal!
Edit 3: Thank you to Cozyman Cam for this link explaining how a weapons attack affects your damage output in game http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/84047545/0/0/1
Edit 4: To the guy who is prattling on about getting 1188 kills in a single raid. This means
A. You were killing the endless mobs at the start to grow your e-penis.
B. You repeatedly wiped somewhere like the confluxes with your awful, underpowered weapon. 1188 kills in a single raid is something to be ashamed of.
Edit 5: This is not a discussion about gaming skill, some people are better than others and that's fine, this is a post about laziness, if you take a sub 300 weapon or no experience into a level 30 raid you are a selfish gamer, end of.
Edit 6: Hearing a level 31 say "Okay, so the three who can hold the relic get to the back of the arena, because that's who Atheon teleports." :-/
Edit 7: It is not cool to use The Last Word in a raid (I'm sure we can agree on that, at least)

Seen a lvl 31..... With blue gear
-
Everything that this post stands for will fall for is that the average gamer is really bad at taking on new concepts
-
You are worse
-
I would never bring anything less than maxed guns to a raid, they should be ashamed.
-
Edited by m00ninite: 12/19/2014 7:11:29 PMAnyone coming into a raid with guns less than 300 are auto-booted. Unacceptable. Go put your time in with other content before you come and put a whole raid team at risk.
-
It is unfair to others who have put in effort to be as effective as possible only to be held back by some guy to lazy to get his oracle disruptor weapon maxed so you wipe on hob goblin portal with atheon at 20% because the scrub cant help kill oracles.
-
i soloed crota on hard with my khvostov, your argument is irrelevant
-
Thats no problem ive seen rare weapons in raid
-
Lack of experience? Are you -blam!-ing serious, the raid just came out moron.
-
Just so you know your lvl affects you damge also not just your weapon
-
Wait... "cow" is an error code ??
-
I got 300 attack weapons in the raid... call me chief keef
-
Joined a group for hard vault last night and the first thing they asked was has anyone done this before....bad sign. They were all 30-31. I looked a bit closer a couple of them were still using rare weapons. Bungie screwed up when they made vanguard gear 33 light level.
-
6 total raid completions and 5.4 KD in raids. Funny how whenever I see someone complaining about noobs in raids they always have very poor stats
-
Level 31 with grimore score <2000 and <300 weapons=KICKED.
-
I am trying to be as un-elitist as possible
you failed. you are forever lost in the elitist corners of time.
-
Someone got over 1000 kills in a raid? LOL be ashamed bro, wipe fest.
-
Thanks for the support guys :-)
-
Here's a useful hint... if you see a player who's level 31, but has a god awfully low grimoire score... don't expect a He-man performance. Some of us guys in Vanguard gear don't need to be discriminated against as being "scrubs" just because we're decked out in Vanguard gear when no one will give us a chance in the raid in the first place!

Honestly, regardless of how unelitist you were trying to come off, this post in and of itself was a form of elitism. I mean, you cant expect every single level 30-31 to have all maxed out AND legendaries. Some people don't have good luck with RNGesus. Not their fault. Hell, it honestly doesn't phase me one bit, considering that i have plenty of friends with shitty weapons and armor that still want to get shit done. Shit, I've played this game on Xbone for maybe 130 hours, and on ps4(Psn is THRACIANxx) for triple that or more. I've encountered tons of people that simply just use blues because they look better, and they simply don't want to spend a million shards and energy maxing legendaries. Doesn't make them any less of a player. Its a game. If you don't like people using certain things, restrict your parties to whoever fits your criteria and stop playing with randoms.

Had a 24 in the normal VoG the other day using The Stranger's Rifle. Not Upgraded!
-
If you depend or count on 300 maxed weapons in the raid, you do not deserve to play the raid. They should use whatever weapon they want, and whatever armor piece they want so long as they meet the level requirement. Hell, I don't even have most of my exotics maxed because of Bungie once again lying to our faces, claiming that upgraded exotics through Xur level up faster. Final verdict is that VoG Hard is a joke now a days, and the only possible argument you could have about fully upgraded weapons is that your heavy should be fully or close to fully upgraded for Crota.
-
Agreed. I joined a VoG raid on Hard with lvl 31's and some guys were Rocking Rare Weapons! WTF? A lvl 31, but you don't have one upgraded Legendary Weapon?
-
I'll say that yes it is a good strategy to come into a raid with your best. That usually means maxed weapons, legendary or exotic. However there are many people who aren't RNG blessed and/or have limited amounts of playtime. For those of us who are "top tier" that means shouldering a little more responsibility sometimes and giving our fellow guardians a hand. On the other hand they better not expect to be able to hide in a corner and do nothing either.

Don't know why you insulting people thinking you are like some god you pathetic loser

Edited by Mr.Shickadance: 12/18/2014 11:20:49 PMI'm sure these type of people don't want to waste energies on 1.0 weapons. They are most likely running VOG for energies so that when a 2.0 weapon drops they can level it. With current 1.0 weapons being "trash" why waste the time to level them? I'm currently sitting on a bunch of 267/277 legendaries and a couple 1.0 Truth & Gjallahorns that I don't want to waste time/mats leveling. I'm sure this is an unintended side effect of the DLC but as it is easier to find/level armor there are bound to be tons of 31/32 level toons with "weak" weapons hoping for 2.0 drops. Thank Bungie's RNG and terrible leveling design for all the underpowered guardians!
