sick of seeing level 31 characters with 274 attack guns in a raid
Never thought I would say this but holy cow! It is way too easy to get into the raids now and the under-levelled weapons/lack of experience can be so frustrating.
Edit: I am talking about level 30 raids here. I would never talk this way about normal mode.
Edit 2: I am trying to be as un-elitist as possible, I will usually solo the nightfall each week and put a post up offering any lower levels who want to be pulled through, no problem, but the level 30 raids are a different animal!

Edit 4: To the guy who is prattling on about getting 1188 kills in a single raid. This means
A. You were killing the endless mobs at the start to grow your e-penis.
B. You repeatedly wiped somewhere like the confluxes with your awful, underpowered weapon. 1188 kills in a single raid is something to be ashamed of.
Edit 5: This is not a discussion about gaming skill, some people are better than others and that's fine, this is a post about laziness, if you take a sub 300 weapon or no experience into a level 30 raid you are a selfish gamer, end of.
Edit 6: Hearing a level 31 say "Okay, so the three who can hold the relic get to the back of the arena, because that's who Atheon teleports." :-/
Edit 7: It is not cool to use The Last Word in a raid (I'm sure we can agree on that, at least)

^^ this. I couldnt agree more. Get those weapons up to at LEAST 300 before using it in VoG hm or Crotas End normal. When Hm of Crotas End releases should only use 331 attack weapons.

Totally agree. This is why I have yet to do the hard raid. I just don't want to be carried and I would like to contribute.

Yeah you have to check gear not light level for skill. I made a titian and a warlock who are at lvl 30 and I've only played 12 hours at most on each

The problem is you have all the players who could never complete the VoG on hard or even normal before getting to level 30 and 31 with dlc armor now wanting to complete it. I am sorry but if you don't have a raid team that you have been able to establish by now that you were able to complete the vog on hard before the dlc that is tough and you are destined to have to run the lfg gambit...good luck

11 RepliesRan into this the other day when a friend wanted to complete his Atheon checkpoint on hard. He had a few completions but I soon found out that nobody else in the fire team had run a full VoG after they couldn't make it out of the first portal once in about 3-4 tries. Told him to return to orbit and make me leader. We ran a fresh normal run which took awhile but I explained each phase to the team and we made it through. Everyone was new to VoG at some point and there are still a bunch that are new. I'd rather teach people how to get through on normal than abort the fire team because I want to do it on hard. The more people who learn how to run it the more friends you will to run it with later.

2 RepliesI don't think it is "elitist" at all to get aggravated playing with 31's that have 274 damage legendaries and blues. They may very well be a skilled player, but the facts remain that a 274 damage weapon, you mine as well be throwing bullets at lvl 32 enemies. You simply can't do any damage to the Knights and major/ultra enemies. Not to mention Crota himself. You can't do any damage to assist taking his shields down. This is the unfortunate consequence of making it so easy to get to a higher level. The weapons just arnt as easy to get. A week and a half with if marks for the weapons. I had a 31 join the other day with a blue primary and heavy. That's all he had.....just simple facts you can't deal enough damage.

1 ReplyITT the OP doesn't realize Crota is only normal mode. ITT the OP also somehow believes someone can have experience in a 30th level raid without doing the raid.

7 RepliesHey, that explanation of attack you posted is beyond wrong. Att/15=Level Damage caps out A 300 Att weapon will do the same amount of damage to a level 20 as it will a level 32. A 331 Att weapon will do the same amount of damage to a level 22 as it will a level 32. The level at which your gun caps out is important because every extra enemy level your guns caps out at gives an additional 7% damage boost. Bump for clarity please, I've seen people misunderstanding the Attack Value of a weapon for months now.

I feel so guilty about this stuff I max out my weapons before entering a raid team. Got praedeths revenge one time. Didn't raid again til it was maxed out. Got fatebringer, won't raid again til it's maxed out. Or won't use it

2 RepliesSo what you're saying is these "LFG" websites aren't working any better than raid matchmaking, that Bungie is too stupid to implement, would work? And, yes, they are too stupid. They hide behind this "raids are too hard" nonsense by claiming the same for weekly and nightfall strikes.

1 ReplyI think its funny, I did my first VoG raid yesterday, with near full legendary armor and 2 legendary weapons and one exotic. I was lvl 28, and one member in my team WHO HAD DONE RAIDS BEFORE was on his best account, had 3 blue armors, 1 green, and one purple weapon, the rest were blue. Really?

1 ReplyIf you don't know the raid, just say so. Someone in the party with experience will gladly inform you. But you should absolutely not do crotas end or hard VoG unless you have 300+ weapons. You can't hold your own against a 30 enemy with an auto rifle doing 274 damage. You will just be a very weak link to your team. Grind some bounties and max your weapons. It's not that hard.
