trying to calculate husk of the pit drop rate
Write below how many blades of Crota you've killed since the patch Tuesday and whether or not you got it on the nth try
Wow honestly too many responses to even count. But I have seen as many 200 plus attempts/7 hours and as little as getting 2 from killing only 3 blades. Something is messed up with RNG if you ask me. Try switching characters is my advice. My one character seemed to be goin on the way too many attempts path so I switched and on my other character boom 2nd try (swear there's a hidden luck stat somewhere)

But it's BS that apparently its worthless and i can't upgrade it unless i buy DLC. Why the hell did they give it to me then? If you didn't buy the dlc it shouldn't drop for you. I'm glad i found out it's pointless do the kills to upgrade this thing before i started. and they aren't getting more money from me.

I killed about 50 something blades in the cosmodrome and gave up on it, then about a week later a blade spawned and everyone was ignoring it so I went "screw it" and killed him with a shoulder charge. Dropped immediately. Mini heart attack right there.

I've killed 200+ and haven't gotten a single husk I love the game but the rng is really messed up

Don't know how many it took but I use that recently reopened mission to do the blade of crota bounty. Yesterday I did that bounty and had 3 drop in a row. This games rng is horrible. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be introductory course random number generator.

Edited by kymr0: 12/29/2014 4:02:02 AMI got it Thursday I think in the cosmodrome, I haven't went out of my way to farm them, just killed the swords of crota for eris bounties or whenever I happened to see them. Let me tell you, it was a huge relief when I saw it on my screen. Getting the hive kills with it wasn't bad either, I have the eidolon ally right now, you can check it out on my warlock. I usually don't like auto rifles but something about shooting it is strangely... hypnotic [b]edit[/b] typo

In fist of crota it won't drop anymore I did one blade on earth in a cave and I got it

Weeelllll, It took me 7 blades of crota on the first time I got it on the Fist of Crota mission and then I went for it again just cause and then second tome I got it on the Fist of Crota mission it took me 1 blade of crota.

Got mine after about 10 tries on the same character. As soon as I said "four more and I'm done" shit dropped :)

killed about maybe sixty/seventy with my two friends. i got three and they both got nothing.

Took me about 15-20 minutes on fist of crota to get the husk if pit today ~.

I'm lucky on drops all the time but can't seem to get the Husk after making 20+ attempts per day between 3 characters. I know somebody that has got 4 already. No way you could make sense of the drop rate except it's random.

Over 50 kills and got 1 husk 2 kills later got another

Rng is -blam!-ed I think it goes by character. I haven't gotten shit on my main for drops. My secondary I get legendarys left and right sometimes.

Stop trying to calculate RNG and just do any Blade of Crota you come across on patrols. Stop trying to get it and you'll be excited when it pops up. I got 3 without trying and turned ine into legendary. It's a useless gun still. Only reason ppl want it is because it's the only one that drops like this and the only one that can be changed. It's a good idea but should be a better weapon for the process.
