Shared by Airabus:: Some good tips on where to focus your time to get good rewards!! First, if you plan on playing the game for a while get the expansion. That way gear you buy will be the best and will lessen your "grinding" time. Second, once you hit your early 20s do the Daily Story every chance you get. The Daily Story usually has 3 levels 20 or 22 in normal or 26 and 30 in heroic. Pay attention to the story modifiers and which story it is. Some of the daily stories are easier than others. Doing the daily gets you +5 marks and some materials for upgrades. Once you get your character to 26 you can start doing the Daily story at 26 for more upgrade components. I'd make sure you have at least 1 legendary weapon before trying a level 26 Daily story though. Third, cherry pick bounties. There is always a handful of bounties that can be completed quickly and at the same time. Bounties where you need to kill a certain mob in heroic mode are great because they can be done quickly, be paired with other kill bounties and offer +100 rep/+5000xp (good for motes of light). Try to turn in bounties in lots. The more bounties you turn in the greater chance at getting a Exotic Weapon bounty. Fourth, Strike list. Run the strike list as much as possible to get gear and more importantly rep and marks. These are so easy to do these days you should be able to do 2-3 in an hour of play. If you only have 20 minutes to play run the daily or run a couple pvp matches. If you have an hour play the daily story and a strike or two. Always make sure you look at the bounties for the day to get the easiest ones. With some proper planning you can get levels in rep (which give you access to better gear and commendation medals), accumulate marks to buy gear and level up with very little effort especially when you compare it to true grinding games like WoW. Be happy when you decode engrams and get motes of light and strange coins. These two items make it very easy to buy exotic gear on the weekend. From Friday to Saturday in a random spot "Zur an Agent of the Nine" appears in the tower and sells awesome stuff (no rep needed). 13 strange coins for a piece of exotic armor, 17-23 strange coins for exotic weapons and 23 motes of light for a exotic engram which produces a random class piece of exotic armor which you can either save if it is not for your class or disassemble for a exotic shard used for the final upgrade for exotic weapons and armor By playing 3-4 hours a week you could easily gear your character out with the best gear outside of raid gear. Doing this would allow us to maximize our co-op time by playing the weekly strike (which yields lots of strange coins).
