Wtf is up with all these kids and swords? It's the effing future! Swords are prehistoric and should be viewed as ceremonial pieces at best. You really think armor hasn't been upgraded with the discovery of stronger more lightweight materials on other planets? Swords wouldn't stand a chance. Especially with all the high tech guns of the future. Enough with swords you amateurs.

so BryBry... are you ready to eat crow

Just like you said it's the future, yes guns are extremely advanced but so are the swords. Did you see what the swords are made out of and how they have their elemental burns. First off they are made out of hadium flakes last time I checked swords aren't made of that, second you get the elemental burns form oryx's -blam!-ing sword. Now tell me that isn't advanced technology. Plus swords are -blam!-ing badass

Lol you know I was wrecking dudes with swords in halo at every chance I got. So satisfying. They do state that the energy sword was of a ceremonial pice though. Why do you think the elites were getting cleaned up by the Chief?

Glad we are on the same page!

so from your infinite logic of sofa sitting, fourming browsing and 100+ hours of ponies and tentacle hentai, you state that a sword would have no chance in a sci-fi world.... have you not watched Starwars

I was hoping some one would bring up Star Wars. 1. The light sabers in Star Wars are not made of metal 2. No way in hell jedis could react in time. Let alone proceed to see the bullet, react, pull their arms up faster than the bullet , position their light saber to the direction of the bullet, deflect the bullet, do it a consecutive amount of times and from more than one enemy. 3. Are you suggesting a boss in Destiny should wield a lightsaber and do everything I listed in #2?

a lot of games have moments of swords vs guns btw any chance are you referring to tcun and abraxas?
-
Just want to let you know I stopped at the first boss when you mentioned he was armed with a flamethrower and a sword. To be fair, I went back and skimmed through your whole post because it seems like you are genuinely into story telling and creating lore and what have you. I apologize for calling you an amateur. You can deliver a good pitch and present your characters well. Try to be a little more creative with your names though. The Machinist wouldn't work for me seeing as how I find it cliche. I commend your bravery for adding female characters in there as well as guys. Also just because something has been done in movies/games/tv/ books doesn't mean it makes sense or should be accepted. Star Wars is outdated now and probably wouldn't pass as a blockbuster if it came out this year as opposed to whenever they did

have you ever watched sucker-punch ( bad movie I know) but I was inspired by the samurai vs Baby fight... most by the one with the spear-sword. that's what I wanted to base the battle with T'cun btw the machinist was based on the same name of a character in Timepslitters 2 . thought he would be fitting with the vex

Edited by BRYBRY562: 12/16/2014 1:49:49 PMDon't get me wrong I love swords too I just don't think they belong here. I don't want to live in a world where we can jump to different planets in a few hours but still use swords as an effective tool in combat haha! Sure the name fits. It just fits too well get me? That's too easy for the audience! The other names were fine though.

touche' but then what about knifes and nightsticks (can't use but I see a lot on Titians)

Edited by BRYBRY562: 12/16/2014 1:57:18 PMI guess I can see why a hunter would carry a blade. A guardian has to be prepared for anything. For close quarter combat a warlock can use their magic thing, a hunter would use his blade, and a titan with metal plated knuckles would make sense

as you can tell T'cun is a show off.... his sword is more him just showing off how powerful he is ( and you know what they say about people with big swords...) and cocky he is. anyone with that attitude usually means he can't fight and is easy to run circles around him.....why do you think he had such an embarrassing defeat at the twilight gap. With Abraxas, it more sentient mental to have his father's sword as well tame his beasts
