Who failed to kill Crota before reset?
So who else did not manage to kill crota after hours of attempts? I spent hours and my last 5-10 attempts ended with him at about 10% health but he would get enraged. I am usually the swordbearer and have gotten good with the sword. Its just we usually have a hard time killing the Swordbearers at the right time. Also I feel bungie needs to either increase the time until he gets enraged or shorten the time before a new swordbearer comes out. What were your reasons for not finishing the raid.?
Edit. To those saying that you have to down him twice per sword are telling me nothing I dont already know. Usually I accomplish this but usually my group takes too much time chasing down Swordbearers that seem to know our strategy as well as waiting for the ogres to spawn. Each attempt of mine usually sees 4 sword drops and two pairs of ogres killed before enraged.
Edit. This week I managed to kill him twice with two characters. One of which I was sword bearer. What I have learned is that the sword holder should be a bladedancer so he can stand next to crotas while invisable. One time I got him to half health with one sword by using invisibility. You also need to kill both the Swordbearers and ogres as fast as possible. If you take too long for either then you have already lost. Also make sure crota is in the middle since he will run off the ledge on the sides or even follow you into the building. Although I have conquered Crota keep putting the advice in this thread to continually help out those who are having trouble.

So I got mine done actually, skipped groups and ran it with some randoms off the forums once instead of rocking out all 3 with my raid group, these guys couldn't get it together tonight just spent 3 hours watching 4 of them panic for those drops and fail!!!

I only need to hit him 3 times per shield down(7 or 8 total) with the hit with the sword being a super per bout and can get him by the 4th sword easy. Just need good timing with the shield down and super. Being 31 with the sword helps big time as well.

I think they should implement a timer which has the remaining time of the sword before it disappears!

Killed him 5 times once less then 10 minutes its all about that timing

Got 3 of us who are decent and have 31 but the others we fill the slots with seem like they don't know which way to hold their gun! That shit should be done in three sword carries with two hits per carry. First time everyone uses primary weapon to bring crotas shield down, straight after crota stands back up, everyone first rockets at him and the sword holder turns right back round to go and hit him again. It's the timing between the team which brings down his shield and the sword holder getting into position at the right time. I wouldn't mind but one attempt we had him down to around 20% health, one more sword carry would of had him, the three lvl30's died very shortly after and we wiped. Pissed to say the least

Not everyone has got time to look for raid teams all week. I just hit 31 with only a few hours of gameplay since DLC release. I'll beat Crota this weak though. Less work. :^)

Only thing I did is get the first chest on all 3 characters. Didn't even try to kill a thrall or attempt to do the raid

Went in with a full team of blind lvl 30s on Wednesday. Started to figure out the bridge before people ran out of time. Haven't been able to get everyone together since then.

5 RepliesI didn't beat him. Kinda bummed. Had a great group and we got him down to 10-15% a couple times before engaged hit. Our strategy is sound and we were taking him down twice per sowrd. There would just be a missed swing here or there.
