What Vanguard Roc Actually Means

So I've been seeing a lot of people who think that Roc in Vanguard Roc stands for Rise of Crota. Although on the surface, this seems logical, it is not true. Allow me to explain why. Firstly, although Vanguard Roc is accessible only if you have purchased The Dark Below, it has little to no connection with Crota or even the Hive. There are only two Hive strikes, out of the six or seven strikes total. Thus, it would be strange to call a higher level strike 'Rise of Crota' when you could end up fighting Psion Flayers. Secondly, and most importantly, a Roc is a mythical beast that is usually described a being a bird or prey of massive proportions, generally big enough to pick up a horse in its talons. Rocs originate in Arabian mythology, though I learned about them through D&D. Finally, the names of the strikes are various beasts who get more powerful the higher you go. it starts with Eagle, which is a pretty weak animal, and could probably not kill a human unless you're playing Far Cry 4. It goes on to Viper, which could kill a human with its venom. After that comes Wolf, which could maul a human and it quite powerful. Next come Tiger, which is a hugely powerful Great Cat that can weigh more than 800 pounds. After that comes the Roc, a legendary bird of myth that is said to hunt elephants. The progression from weak to strong is obvious. And that is the true meaning of 'Vanguard Roc'. Edit: Ugh, stupid error code links. They're so distracting. Edit 2: Apparently Vanguard Dragon is the Lv. 28 strike playlist coming out in House of Wolves. Someone suggested that the Lv. 30 version should be called Vanguard Leviathan. I agree.
