its a safe bet anyone who got the DLC has at least one level 30 and many exotic weapons. Soon to be many more with Atheon now easier with higher levels.
Exotic weapons perks only work when equipped. Choosing an exotic is hard because we need so many other backup weapons with right damage class to back it up. I keep 4 weapons of each class of each damage bonus for example.
How about allowing players to carry two exotics at once? The damage out put is same as normal weapons so really only perk applies. There would be some advantages like plan c weapon swap but I don't see a ton other then using those hard earned exotics.
Really it would just be cool to have more exotics weapons on hand and less pressure on the vault for carrying all the different versions of weapons to backup the exotic.
What you all think?

Yes for PvE

23 RepliesWould anyone use anything other than the Ice Breaker G-horn combo?
-
I disagree with weapons because the game would lose a l other of its challenge as I have g horn and most exotics it would make the game to easy but I do have another similar idea two pieces of armor that are exotic based on factors of exotic armor their abilities don't come into play to often and if they do these abilities are little changes to game play but combined exotic armor abilities could change that

Love allowing more weapons, but as some said armor. Not a good idea, defeats purpose of raid gear.

To be honest most exotics really aren't that special and there really aren't many good reasons to prevent this. There are almost no game breaking combos (though imagine running around with a vex/suros, Icebreaker, and Gjallahorn). I think it would be cool if there was something like a system where you could have up to 4 exotic points equipped at a time (weapon or armor). Kind of mediocre exotics like truth, mida, thorn, Radiant Dance Machines, Knucklehead Radar, Voidfang Vestments or No Backup Plans would be worth 1 point. Good exotics like Suros, Red Death, Vex Mythoclast, Helm of Sait-14, Claws of Ahamkara or Archophage Symbiote would be worth 2 points and game breaking guns like Gjallahorn or Icebreaker would be worth 3 points. This way you could customize your character, vary your play style and use several weapons and pieces of armor that you normally wouldn't. The only argument I can fathom against this is 'Oh but I worked sooooo hard to get to level 32 and they can just get it by throwing on 4 crappy exotics. It's not fair that someone can be level 32 when I am special and awesome!" The only real answer I'd have to that is 1. Why do people on the forums care so much about the level cap? it makes 0 difference in 90% of the game but people are whining about 'earning' it all the time. 2. I'd say if they are willing to throw away there ability to use good exotics so they can sit at level 32, then go for it. It's really a trade off.

Why stop at two? We should be able to equip three exotics if we choose. What does arbitrarily making us change our weapons add to the game? Nothing. We can still use the weapons when we want but we have to pause the game, go into a menu system, wait for the weapons to load, and then switch things around. Why, Bungie? Why would you put this pointless series of stepping stones in the way of something that should be so simple? Just allow us to equip the weapons we want and change when we need to tackle a new enemy or situation.

3 RepliesNot just weapons, armor as well. In pvp, there should be zero issues with allowing us to utilize as many exotics as possible. Everyone would be using the same amounts of exotics, so the balance would still stay intact. In pve, there's just no issues at all. There's no reason we should be kept from using any and all exotics available.

1 ReplyAt least if they continue with the pointless 1 exotic per slot restriction, they should create a weapon wheel. Games have had functional weapon wheels, where players can swap through weapons without loading up another screen, for 15 years now. With Destiny's budget and supposed advanced game play dynamics, they've really took a decade step back in terms of design. I hate loading up another screen to swap out my exotics, especially when I'm being shot up.

1 ReplyI never understood why they did this in the first place. Imagine how badass you would look with all exotic gear. But then raid gear would be pointless and you would be a super gardian with all those abilities.
-
8 RepliesThink about it like this, gjallahorn AND ice breaker, you'd be unstoppable they won't do it, it'd make the game boring keep the challenge
-
I really don't see the game logic in a guardian's inability to hold more than 1 exotic. It's not as though the exotics are so overwhelmingly powerful where holding more than 1 would result in a guardian's death, like an Infinity Stone in the Marvel Universe. If the game gave us a reasonable answer for this restriction, other than a player being overly powered in a supposedly open-world environment, then I would be more satisfied with their limitation. Otherwise I don't see why a player can't hold and utilize more than 1 exotic at a time. Your whole purpose in Destiny is to make your characters as awesome as possible. I believe exotics should buff one another in a set uniformity, like the armour sets in Diablo.

Again the loot system is broken some of us may not have that many

I'd love this in the nightfall... Especially these pesky ass triple burns... G horn and plan C or patience and time would do nicely with my good ol VoC.
-
1 ReplyIt would be very over powered imagine going into the crota boss battle with thorn, ice breaker and ggallarhorn.
-
5 RepliesNo, that would make it too easy. And don't argue with me. As I have most exotic weapons. Including the shitty No Land Beyond.
-
Bump! And I agree to exotic in each weapon slot. But only in PvE and maybe only in weekly heroic, nightfall, or raid...
-
All exotic weapons and armor, it will make for some interesting perk combinations rather than the same dang vanilla perks in Destiny.

Edited by NotTheLongerBus: 2/5/2015 5:42:44 AMIn PvE only, I'd consider it.
-
1 ReplyI could live with YOU choose what exotics to use. 2 armor (1 must be boots only because perks make you OP) or 2 weapons, or 1 of each.
-
Maybe if they implement this it will get people to carry no land beyond.

1 ReplyEdited by Kabr’s Revenge (Adept): 1/5/2015 2:34:46 AMI think all slots should be able to have an exotic equipped because they are not in combination giving you anything extra as if you were to equip all exotic armor! This needs to be addressed! Bump!

1 ReplyI understand that The nightfall strike is supposed too be hard. I absolutely get that. But aren't we going against the darkest of the dark. The enemies at their hardest & most powerful. How about giving us Guardians (just for this game mode strike) the ability too use two exotic weapons at the same time. We could use a little bit of leeway too offset the many modifiers as Angry, Epic, Heroic, & Lightswitch just too name a few . The only modifier we receive is "Radiant Light" and that's after said strike. "A quote from a post I wrote earlier."

4 RepliesI think we should be able to carry 3 exotic weapons in pve only. It wouldn't hurt anything. Just make the game funner in my opinion. To use the guns you earned or bought against your enemies and not having to make a hard decision on which to use and lose ammo when you swap weapons. My combo would be the Vex Ice and Ghorn or either Vex Black Hammer and Ghorn (once I get it)

1 ReplyIcebreaker and Gjallarhorn. Solo crota here I come!
