Is Destiny the most disappointing game of 2014?
Most disappointing game of 2014. There is only one answer, yes.
Where's the content has anybody found the story yet? Any new planets?
No split-screen yes it's 2014 but you'd rather all pay more for less. Some people use this option to play local as well as online with their friends, what about families where their teenagers share a console. It stifles no ones creativity, that's claptrap.
Always online for all game modes is the way of the future, it is for baboons and caterpillars anyway.
Broken loot system, it's a lottery. Good luck enjoy the grinding.
They should not have paid Paul Mcartney for that song and spent the money on finishing the game instead. (Sir Paul McCartney didn't do it for free, that's what inland revenue was told, unless Destiny is a registered charity). Christmas number one?

1 ReplyDestiny is by far one of the best and most addicting games this year. Sure it has its flaws but what game doesn't. I really enjoy the ability to grind for gear etc and then when I'm bored hop on some Crucible. Not to many games nowadays can keep its player base entertained for more than a month or even a week. I've played for over 3 months now so I can honestly say I've definitely gotten my money's worth. As time goes on this game will only get better.

You're not actually asking for opinions, you're just asking for people to agree with you. Call of Duty lasted me a few nights of PvP with my friends straight after launch, but I haven't touched it since. Dragon Age last me little under a week, but I haven't been back since. I'm still playing Destiny on a regular basis. I took a break when those other games came out, but now I'm back where I belong.

2 RepliesNo. I get the hate, but even with a lot of issues I have with the game, the gunplay is top-notch and it's the first game where I have spent over 400hrs in just 3 months. Tbh, it's actually my GOTY, tied with FF XIV on PS4.

I think it's more appropiate to say that Bungie is the most disappointing company of 2014 since they brought out a game that HAD the potential to be this great epic game that they promised us and eventually gave us this piece of crap and then decided to constantly fock it up even more.

1 ReplyDisappointing or not, in your case you sit at 41 cents an hour of entertainment (even less actually because tower and orbit time aren't tracked). That is a great deal for any form of entertainment. I assume you played at least another game or two this year for less time for your money, so to say this was the most disappointing is being dramatic. Looks as though you had plenty of game for your money, which really would deem it a success. Maybe it didn't meet the hype (yet, there surely wasn't any real time for them to change anything major for DLC one based on player feedback. Games take an extremely long time to develop.) but the longer it runs, if they really care about what players other than just Raiders and PvP'ers want in the game, it should be pretty great in the coming year. I have my gripes about this and that but it's still fun for me and millions of other players, so fleshed out story or not, it's still a game unlike any other at the moment (albeit one that is jack of all trades but master of none). For me, Titanfall was a much bigger let down. It was fun too, but needed aspects of PvE to keep the game fun after a few months.

with all the "issues" a handful of players are having. I find it to be the most stable and user friendly running console game to date. UI to party up to public interactions to etc., find it to be quite a user friendly gaming program.

Put it this way, since it's release, I have yet to touch bf4, which was my game at the time. But with destiny release n that BS fall patch that IMO broke BF4, I've been good. I've played only fc4 since then, another great title I might add. Metro LL was ok. N I have gta5 under the Christmas tree so destiny will always be in rotation, I guess after nightfall/weekly/raid are done....

Most disappointing? Maybe. But only because of the idiotic high expectations. I watched one trailer before getting destiny and im not disappointed at all, i got what i expected and loving the hell out of it. Did they make it sound better than it is? Yes, welcome to the world of advertising. Every single big release this year was "disappointing" because everyone expected extacy at the loading screen. Not because all those games were particularly bad.

2 RepliesDestiny is a decent game at best. The thing that bugs me about destiny is that it has so much potential but it's being shit. It's like you have a bar of gold and you just use it as a paper weight. I'm probably going to quit destiny in the next month because it's the same thing over and over. It shows no signs of changing and improving. Maybe il come back In a year when it's better and IL probably be able to get 45 light gear from the vendors and be back at the top after 3 weeks of game play and a few raids.

As a game yes it has some issues (tell me a game that doesnt!) But it has given me hours of entertainment and introduced me to a great group of people in my clan. So personally thanks destiny.
