i played and beat a general yesterday in swat. at end of game, he sent me a message that said he was going to hack and delete my account. is this possible? i thought that microsoft would not allow this. is there anyway to protect my account or was he just talking bull to me?

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about bro........ And yes, Deranker, those people at customer support should be fired. There's a way of ensuring your account is un hackable though........I think my friend said if you detach your account from the windows live login, there's no way anyone can recover it. Makes sense in theory. But......Vipirum I have no clue what's going on man. I'm probably out of the loop on this one lol
Wow totally my bad man. For some strange reason I thought you were the founder of the general public. He kicked me out of his group because I called some one in there a BK because he wouldn't 1v1 me.
Oh, s'all good. As for the situation, I'll talk to Implausible, it's his group. We should take this conversation to PM's if you're interested in discussing it further.....

 • lmao i wouldn't worry about it. the same thing happened to one of my friends. the guy sent him a message saying "i'm gonna hack your account, good luck buying a new one" but he still has it. EDIT: I think you can acctually report people that say that under "File A Complaint". you might want to read what that all entails though since i'm not sure you are supposed to do it for someone sayin they'll hack your -blam!- [Edited on 05.02.2008 1:16 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: ICEMAN ASSASS1N Yes, your account can be stolen. It's not exaclty "hacking," it's social engineering. The person trying to take your account will call the XBL support line with a fake sob story about how he needs his information because his harddrive broke (or some other ridiculous story) and if the support rep he's talking to is foolish enough, the information will be given to him and he'll recover your account to his xbox. But they're getting better at reducing account theft. Call XBL support and verify all your info. I've had a couple people try and take my account, but I'm still here thankfully :-)
If that is the case then that XBL Support employee should have been fired. Your address and phone number are also on record at XBL and you shouldnt need your Hard Drive to verify that with XBL support. [Edited on 05.02.2008 1:13 AM PDT]

 • People can get information pretty easily these days, especially over the phone. It is possible, but I believe MS got a lot more strict upon their CSRs, so hopefully they'll be stringent enough not to give out information based solely upon a gamertag.

 • I've heard of people phoning microsoft and claiming that someone stole there account and convincing them to give them all the information so they can recover the account. I know a general grade 4 that it happend to. I think the best thing to do is phone microsoft and tell them what happend and give them all the information possible so you can get your account.

 • Do what I do. If you have the vision cam, take a pic of your bare A$$ and send it to them with a message that says "HACK IN TO THIS BIIIAATCH!" I have to do this at least once a day. They are just trying to scare you cuz you pwned them. They cant hack your account unless you give them your password. PERIOD! [Edited on 05.02.2008 1:06 AM PDT]

 • A: Change your email. B: Change your Gamertag. or C: Reply with "Shut the hell up." and be done with it.

 • He might be able to, but not many people actually know how. Just make sure your password is really good, and you have a good security question. You could also change your email and email password, and contact information.
