The Bungie Store is an EPIC FAIL - Shipping - Customer Service
I am nothing more than an average everyday Bnet user who is an average customer. I just have some concerns.
I would like to buy myself a Bnet Tee. I need a white shirt to add to my collection anyways.
The Bnet store is fine, but one element of it sucks.
I was going to pay 12.95 for this Tee. Now granted that is a pretty low price for a T-shirt nowadays. But I have a major problem with their shipping.
1st off, UPS is the only option. 2nd, how in the hell could it possibly cost 9.49 to ship it across the U.S. when it only weighs 5 oz?
Ups as the only option. This is a failure because there is also FedEx and Priority Mail. I see no reason why they couldn't stuff it into a 3 - 4 dollar envelope from Wal-Mart. It's a T-shirt, not a helmet.
2nd 9.49 to ship it is ludacris. I don't know who in the hell honestly thinks they can fool anyone with this. You can't honestly tell me that it really costs that much to send a 5 oz package across the U.S. I could walk it across America for cheaper.
So I ask, why not just make the Tee 15.95 or so with 5.00 shipping? That would look 10x better. I do not enjoy getting taken advantage of in any fashion. This is the same as eBay, I don't buy from idiots who think they can just screw PPL over on shipping. I have no problem with paying the 21 bucks for it, it's just the way they are going about getting that 21 bucks.
Please note lastly, I don't know who makes these shirts for Bungie or where they are located, but I would assume it is near Kirkland, WA.
I also sent them an e-mail but their customer service is also extremely horrible. I hope Bungie can help and has a better service department than whoever runs that store.

[/quote] My roommate is a manager for FedEx o thats where I learnt most of what I know about them and UPS. Gas is going to kill everything this summer.

i work in shipping and i can say that yes, ups is pretty expensive. but it isn't their fault. all the shipping companies are raising prices because of oil. even freight lines. and here shipping a 1lb item (which is the minimum) cost about $7. [Edited on 05.02.2008 11:00 AM PDT]

Yeah... I mean at least they can change the look of shipping. Say the shirt is 15 and shipping is 5. That would make it seem more reasonable. I like the idea of changing the vendor. With that being said I'd like to tell Bungie I'm open for business. I will hand deliver all products cross-country via bicycle. All I ask is for shelter. It might take more than a week to deliver said product but IT WILL BE DELIVERED!

Thats right, 15 bucks for a T-shirt would be very reasonable. 9.49 for shipping is outrageous and flat out dishonest.

ya this is a great post... i have bought alot of bungie swag and all kinds of other stuff from the store and it is insane how much they charge... although the buying alot of items in the same order seemed to bring down the outrageous-ness of it all... /agree on this whole thread though either way... anyone should be able to get the gear they want from the bungie store for a at least reasonable price.

Wow they must like you with the e-mail thing. I understand how you guys do your thing in Australia, but we don't do it like that here in the U.S. I should never, ever, ever half to pay more then 5 bucks to ship something of this nature across the U.S. Reason being is that UPS has so many packages on all their trucks that the profit they make off of them is pretty good. Also it doesn't even weigh 1/2 a pound, so it's not like they are killing themselves to get it across the U.S. As long as it gets here within 5 biz days then I'll be happy. But here in America you just don't go about biz in this way. Screwing PPL over isn't a way to get biz or retain biz. UPS + FedEx make so much money that they literally have money to throw away. FedEx has tons more cash and is growing way faster than UPS. They, even @ 5 bucks, are still making a profit. And as I stated earlier, we should all apply the same concept to eBay. Anyone shipping a single video game for over 5 bucks is screwing you over.

I was going to make a thread like this, but completely opposite. I bought $80 worth of stuff, with $60 shipping (to Australia). The package arrived so fast (under a week) and the goods are top quality. Excellent. Look at what goes into shipping. -Someone picks the goods -someone packs the goods -someone picks up the goods and takes them to the shipping company -they send them -someone collects them -they get checked by customs -they get hand delivered and signed for at my door. That is a lot of people who need to get payed. It's worth it. Also, my emails to them were promptly replied to. [Edited on 05.01.2008 10:28 PM PDT]

What I do is bundle up items to save on shipping. I usually only purchase 3 things minimum when I buy something from the Bungie Store. It saves me a bit on shipping in the long run.

Ya I bought all the Halo 2 and all the Halo 3 maps within a week of them coming out so far and will continue to do so on w/e they release next. I have a 3 - 5.000.00 court fine coming up so 21 bucks is the least of my worries. (Wrong place at the wrong time is all I'm tellin') I just don't like how Sunrise goes about their buisness and I want Bungie to get a decent vendor.

Excellent! Now that more people have joined this cause of getting Bungie to change vendors more direct action can be taken. I will take an innocent child hostage. If Bungie does not announce that it is changing vendors within a week, then I will kill the child, and this child's blood will be on Bungie's hands!

Sunrise FAILS. I e-mailed them 3 days ago or so and no response, and it specifically says to e-mail them with comments, suggestions, concerns etc. I looked on eBay, but no luck in what I want there yet. I don't mean to come across at Bungie harshly, but this Sunrise company is pure Fail. Please change vendors.

Yeah you can get a good Halo t-shirt at the mall for about $15...that's why I never buy stuff from the Bungie Store.

It seems the Bungiestore is not operated by anyone from Bungie, but apparently Sunrise Identity. Because the store is under operations of a different company, I don't think addressing this problem to Bungie would produce a solution to the shipping cost. I remember seeing posts awhile back about outrageous international shipping, like amounts over the cost of the items they were purchasing and stuff like that. That's why I never buy anything from the Bungie store, I wouldn't mind owning a Halo T-shirt or something but I ain't paying $10 for shipping when I could probably find one at Hot Topic for like $10 alone.

I heard a 6.00 key chain was 54 bucks to ship internationally. I just want an explanantion of why they think they can screw PPL over with that shipping.

Yea, the shipping is pretty outragous. I probably would've boughten a few things from there if it weren't for the shipping prices. A lot of people said that the shipping out of country is even crazier.
