You should be able to go to your Account Settings to Notifications and Emails and uncheck the various boxes which correspond to getting advertisements about things. I'm not a Bungie Employee, but thanks for reporting the error you got, hopefully someone from the web team can look into why that is happening.

Forgot to mention that I turned off all email notifications in the settings last week.

There are email notification settings, but there are also contact settings (see [url=http://i.imgur.com/t7sArhd.png]here[/url]). I believe the contact settings should be what you want to disable. About getting an error when you click "unsubscribe", that's definitely not intended and we will investigate the problem.

I just double checked, and everything in the Contact section is still unchecked from last week.

Oh dear. Well I definitely hope that someone from the web team sees this then, those sorts of emails should not be going out if you do not want to receive them =\
